Should We Cancel Thanksgiving This Year? NO but...

Starting with the corruptive enigma that almost brought down this country, Donald Trump has decided to run for President again.

I, and millions more can't be thankful for that.

I am not thankful for the amount of animal abuse and cruelty that is going on in the U,S, and in the world. In this country an estimated 115 million animals in science labs are killed every year for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics research. Every 60 seconds, one animal suffers abuseEvery year, more than 10 million animals die from abuse in the US alone; There are over 10,000 puppy mills in the United States.

Millions are definitely not thankful for this. And I do not see how anyone could abuse an innocent animal; it takes a sick human being to do something like this.

Next, the idiot Elon Musk, a leader in electric vehicles, recently bought Twitter and is slowly but surely dismantling one of the best social medias the world has known.

Again, myself and millions can't be thankful for that.

A number of viruses, infections, new variants and most recently a deadly fungus threaten the U.S. population. How did it start and then spread so fast?

Once more, millions recognize that beginning with the pandemic and continuing with the current onslaught of calamities must, to some degree, be blamed on anti-vaxxers that we certainly can't be thankful for.

A recent blue tsunami in the November election is something to be thankful for, but the GOP although barely winning the House, does open the door to idiocies like the Hunter Biden investigation being planned by Jim Jordan.

Certainly nothing to be thankful for on either side of the aisle.

And then there are Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert, the shallow and brainless Bobbsey twins that barely tip the meter of double-digit IQs.

If you really searched high and low, there is absolutely no way to be thankful for these two idiots.
Look at gun violence. With two recent incidents of mass shootings at the Univ. of Virginia and another at LGBTQ Club, Club Q, eight are dead along with multiple injuries. There have been 39,005 gun violence deaths so far this year and 34,706 injuries from gun violence.
No one should be thankful for the National Rifle Assn. and its head, Wayne LaPierre, as well as the minions that serve him. Also, those gun nuts out there who have blocked responsible gun legislation.

Perhaps the most pressing problem the world has ever had, climate change is drying up lakes that are critical for reservoirs in the U.S. and causing weather calamities that are changing lives around the world. Although the Republicans take the lead in the denial of this issue. the Democrats have also dragged their feet. WHO estimates that half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas by 2025.

How could anyone possibly be thankful for this.

The U. S. has a Supreme Court that has moved so far to the right there are calls for impeachment for at least two judges, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. In the court's recent decision to in effect repeal the abortion act, Roe v. Wade, millions of women have been compromised, and they are mad as hell. They showed their anger in the recent election by turning back the expected red tide.

Yes, there are millions who are not thankful that the right to control their own bodies has been taken away from them.

Democracy is slowly dying, made possible by the autocratic government of Donald Trump's administration in the White House, supported vigorously by the Republican Party.

Who could want their rights taken away from them and end up living like basketball star Brittney Griner has been forced to do? But this is the way they do it in a fascist government.

And the last entry leads to the question of whether Americans could live without their right to vote. If Republicans have their way vote will be restricted for some constituents; as an example, the black vote.

I am not thankful for the many laws the GOP has managed to pass and the new drawing of voting districts just to favor the right.

There are more I know but this is enough for now.

Back to my original question, NO we shouldn't cancel Thanksgiving. What we must do is be thankful that we still have the right to fight tyranny and make it a 2023 resolution to try and mend the fences that have been erected by both the Republicans and Democrats, and return to the use of the two words negotiate and compromise. Without them, we are a lost nation.

The Agony of Stupidity and the Outrageous...Anti-Vaxxers on the Move

A Washington State Patrol officer refused to take the coronavirus vaccine mandated by the state. Trooper Robert LaMay, 51, in his refusal, told Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee to “kiss my a–.” Unfortunately, Inslee didn't have a chance to take LeMay up on his offer. The anti-vaxxing officer died from Covid-19. READ MORE...

The Agony of Stupidity...Will Pissing Off Anti Vaxxers Result in More vaccinations?

French President Emmanuel Macron is doing it in his country due to the recent surge of the Omicron virus hitting France and the rest of the world. Macron said...

"he wanted to “piss off” millions of his citizens who refuse to get vaccinated by."

Now that's novel and am sure heads of government worldwide are watching to see the results, hopefully Macron's success. But politics are involved as the president indicated it was better to alienate anti-vaxxers who would never vote for him anyway. There's more...

"Using his harshest language yet to urge the recalcitrant to get their shots, Mr. Macron said he would not “throw them in prison” or “vaccinate them by force.” But he made it clear he meant to make their lives harder."
I don't know exactly what the strategy of "squeezing them out of the country’s public spaces" means but if it refers to isolation and ignoring them, I am for that. No one likes to be ignored and this act could help shut down the anti-vaxxing movement. As of today, France has 11,511,452 cases, 314,604 deaths. The country just picked up 328,214 more cases and added 193 deaths. Right now they are running close to the U.S., a much larger country, in new cases.

Watch the out-of-control partiers on Sunwing Airlines...

And speaking of the U.S., we are currently seeing 60,002,978 total cases, 857,165 total deaths. There were 438,862 new cases on Friday, 1,063 additional deaths. Still, we are facing people dying by the day because they did not get a vaccination. Here's a case from Orange County, California...
"Kelly Ernby — a GOP activist known for her opposition to vaccine mandates — has died of COVID-19 at the age of 46, according to the Daily Pilot."

Ernby was an anti-vaxxer even before coronavirus, objecting to req1uiring children to get their shots before going to school. It seems to me only a complete imbecile would object to protecting the school population against things like measles, chickenpox or other diseases.

Turning next to an Arizona couple who apparently thought they were invincible, as

have so many other anti-vaxxers. The article says Bob and Sue Walker were inseparable during more than 44 years of marriage, "they were soulmates." Neither was vaccinated and they both had health issues, and they were separated in the end, dying on different floors of a Phoenix hospital.

And here is one of the best anti-vaxxing stories I have heard so far. A Canadian group chartered a Sunwing plane to take them from Montreal to Mexico. They filmed themselves partying without masks...
"Videos of the 30 December flight shared on social media show
unmasked passengers in close proximity while singing and dancing in the aisle and on seats. In one video, a large bottle of vodka appears to be passed among passengers and a woman appears to be smoking an electronic cigarette."

The gang was so unruly that Sunwing cancelled their return flight. Later, three other airlines refused to provide them passage back to their home in Canada. It was so bad, Canada's prime minister, Justin Trudeau, called them "idiots," one of the best descriptions of anti-vaxxers I know of since it represents the lowest level of mentality. They face fines (U.S.) $3,900 for each infraction. If they can't pay, I say throw them in a Mexican jail.

Maybe Macron and Trudeau can get together and come up with a strategy between the two countries that will get vaccinations going worldwide. Unfortunately, we haven't had that luck in the United States.

UPDATE...The Agony of Misinformation...Anti-Vaxxers Continue to Spread Propaganda as Scientists Labor,

UPDATE: CNN Medical Analyst...
“I’d say that he’s [Sen. Ron Johnson] so misguided that it makes me wonder whether this is all just an act. And if it is an act, what does that say about what he thinks his constituents want to hear?”
“And if this is not an act, then he is just the most ignorant man in the United States Senate. And that says a lot.”

The noxious Republican Senator from Wisconsin is still at it with a new hit for the Covid stage. Ron Johnson says if you gargle with mouthwash every morning, you're safe from the coronavirus. Johnson is a long-term spreader of coronavirus misinformation...
"YouTube this year suspended his account for violating the company’s medical misinformation policies. He has also expressed skepticism about the efficacy of coronavirus vaccine mandates and doses, which have undergone vigorous health testing."

While this wingnut spouted his crap, other anti-vaxxers challenged the credibility of the newly announced Omicron variant back in November of 2021, first noticed in the U.K. They questioned the virus' validity by releasing a bogus schedule of new variant disclosure dates exclaiming the whole pandemic was orchestrated...

"Other false claims about the new variant have leaped across the Internet in the two weeks since it was first identified. One post in a group with more than a million members on the Telegram messaging app claimed the vaccines had caused the omicron variant, according to First Draft, a nonprofit that investigates misinformation. Another conspiracy theory posits that the variant is being pushed by governments and pharmaceutical companies to undermine ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug that vaccine skeptics have said treats covid-19, the disease caused by the virus. (There is no scientific evidence supporting that claim.)

A Kaiser Family Foundation Study says most parents still are skeptical of the

vaccine for their children with one in ten saying. "they will "definitely not" vaccinate their children against Covid-19. This, no doubt accounts for the surge in children's cases across the U.S. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) reports 226,000 child COVID-19 cases from Sep 9 to 16. They represent 25.7% of weekly reported cases.

Here's more from the KFF study...
"Vaccine uptake has slowed among adolescents ages 12 to 17 in recent months. Only about half of parents say that their child in this age group has received at least one dose of vaccine, a share that has changed little since the fall, KFF found.

"And among parents of younger children ages 5 to 11, about 29% say that their child has already been vaccinated or will be "right away." But another third of parents of children in this age group say that they want to "wait and see" before vaccinating their child against Covid-19."

Finally, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr... how could he have gone so wrong? Along with other politicians and celebrities, this medical lowlife is the worst. Not even going to get into his father, who must be throwing up in his grave. Here's an example of what this moron spews, in this case a far right conference, branded as standing for “health and freedom,” at a Southern California church...

“It is criminal medical malpractice to give a child one of these vaccines,” Kennedy contended, according to a video of the event, one of his many assertions that ignored or went against legal, scientific and public health consensus.

Then, Kennedy hawked his book. If just 300 attendees preordered it on Amazon that night, he told the crowd, it would land on the bestseller list and they could “stick it to Amazon and Jeff Bezos.”

The Agony of Stupidity...39 Million Unvaccinated Idiots on the Street Worse Than 390 million Guns

The Agony of Stupidity...39 Million Unvaccinated Idiots on the Street Worse Than 390 million Guns

There are almost 400 million guns on the streets of America which are responsible for over 40,000 gun violence deaths each year and increasing every year. But that can't even compare with the over 800 thousand deaths annually from Covid-19, now spreading more quickly with the Omicron variant. It isn't known for sure how many of these deaths are caused by anti-vaxxer misinformation, but considering the amount of this propaganda out there on social media, it is probably high.

And now Republican lawmakers are pitying these freaks by passing legislation that prevents the health care industry to do its job. Protect the American public from coronavirus. Here is a headline from the Washington Post that should infuriate anyone who believes in science over the disinformation being disseminated: "Anger over mask mandates, other covid rules, spurs states to curb power of public health officials," Can you believe it...curbing the power of truth over death?

WaPo uses an illustration from Columbus, Ohio, and one of its suburbs, where a mixture of mask requirements exist...
"Under a new law in Ohio — one of at least 19 states this year that have restricted state or local authorities from safeguarding public health amid the coronavirus pandemic — Franklin County’s health commissioner Joe Mazzola can no longer intervene. The county health department was stripped of its power to compel people to wear masks even as the omicron variant fuels a fifth coronavirus surge in the United States."

In effect, this law tells Franklin County’s health commissioner Joe Mazzola that he cannot save lives. This is unconscionable, but a regular move by Republicans across the country. The great GOP killing machine in motion. And here's another headline from the New York Times: "Another Christmas of Death and Distress in America’s I.C.U.s." Healthcare workers are putting their lives on the line this holiday season, while at the same time these imbecilic anti-vaxxers spread more propaganda.

How Republicans protect anti-vaxxers...

Here's an example of what's going on from Ronda Stevenson, intensive care unit nurse at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis for the past seven years...

"Instead of taking holiday vacations this weekend, workers at strained hospitals across the nation are working 16-hour shifts. Some have been on the job every day for weeks. Festive meals have been replaced with protein bars and sports drinks."

It's frightening, since Ohio is only an example of what is going on all around the country with over sixteen states adopting similar laws, and more on the books for 2022. Here is the tragedy of the situation by Amy Goldstein of the WP...

"These laws — the work of Republican legislators — inhibit health officers’ ability to require masks, promote vaccinations or take other steps, such as closing or limiting the number of patrons in restaurants, bars and other indoor public settings. Often, the measures shift those decisions from health experts to elected officials at a time when such coronavirus-fighting strategies have become politically radioactive."

The piece's author makes it clear that the GOP is responsible for what is going on

with this blog's assumption their goal is to kill off the U.S. population. The Times reports vaccinations have hit a "plateau" with the Omicron variant in full swing during the holidays...
"Around 20 percent of children 5 to 11 years old have gotten a dose of vaccine. And only around one in three fully vaccinated Americans has gotten a booster."

And finally, Sarah Bahr and Mike Baker of the New York Times wrap up the status of the current situation...

"Nearly two years into a pandemic that shows no sign of abating, doctors, nurses and other frontline workers have already faced the emotional toll of mass death in their hospitals. They have endured the frustration of pleading with the public to take precautions only to watch outbreaks unfold as people ignored the call for help. They have suffered the moral distress of not being able to give patients the ideal level of care."
The question is, what will 2022 bring? With 53,121,847 cases and 837,804 deaths already in the U.S., we can only hope it gets better. We also should ask the question, did the anti-vaxxing community completely ignore science courses in high school?

Anti-vaxxers will not be "coddled"

Charles M. Blow is a well-known columnist with the New York Times and he has finally had enough. With anti-vaxxers. Like many of us in the U.S., Blow says, "I am furious at the unvaccinated." The understatement of the year. A personal incident fueled his reaction against a friend who, unvaccinated, could have endangered himself and others around him...like his buddy, Charles Blow. What happened next was typical of a group well defined as anti-science...

"I recently found out that a friend of mine — a smart guy — was not vaccinated, and I confronted him about it.

"How could he have not gotten his vaccination? And how had he not seen fit to tell me and our other mutual friends? Wasn’t he worried about the risk he was posing not just to himself, but to the rest of us?

"He tried to laugh it off, offering up a bunch of concerns rooted in conspiracy theories. But I told him that he had to get vaccinated, period."

Blow also commented, "I will not coddle willful ignorance of the unvaccinated anymore." Well said! Don't you love the word, "coddle?" It means, "to treat tenderly; nurse or tend indulgently; pamper." Not that I think we have had an overabundance of coddling of the anti-science bunch, but there has been more than enough of mutual concession and compromise between those of us who believe that the scientific community knows what it is doing and "those" who don't.

The Story Behind The Anti-Vaxx Movement In America | Rise And Fall...

Charles Blow has more...
"The next time I saw him, he was worried about the omicron variant and asked if I would go with him to get the jab. I texted him a site where he could register and told him to let me know once he had. That was Saturday. He still hasn’t signed up.
"I am disappointed, and I am angry, not just with my friend but with all the people who are choosing not to get vaccinated."

And yes, most of us have tried our best to be "tolerant" with those who sometime challenge the IQ system to its limits. I remember when I was in school, all the way through college, not only in science classes, but any curriculum where you can arrive at a solution by establishing facts that substantiate your problem. The teacher decided we had solved the issue, and we accepted this, not just because the teacher said so, but because we had scientifically determined our results.

I don't like concluding a post by calling names, unfortunately anti-vaxxers have forced this ploy repeatedly in the last two-plus years, and once again I must say it with enthusiasm... the anti-science bunch are IDIOTS.

The Agony of Stupidity...Another senseless Republican

This wingnut, William Hartmann, not only an anti-vaxxer and anti-masker, but also a purveyor "the Big Lie — the false, totally debunked conspiracy theory that Donald Trump really won the 2020 presidential election but was robbed of a victory because of widespread voter fraud." Hartmann is a former vice-chairman of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers in Michigan. He's also a crackpot that thinks 'it's just a virus.' This idiot is now in intensive care, condition unknown.

Hartmann is taking up space in a Michigan hospital ICU that someone with a legitimate health problem might need. Yes, I do believe this moron's case is not legitimate in the eyes of the health community, as has been voiced by a number of doctors and other health care professionals. Here's an example of Hartmann's lunacy, he...
has "criticized the vaccine and compared government COVID-19 efforts to Nazi Germany."

I have advocated repeatedly that these medical maniacs should be corralled in a gulag somewhere and let them kill each other. Well, now, I have another idea...the U.S. should buy an island that is for sale off either Florida or Texas (reference the two senseless governors, Greg Abbott, Texas, Ron DeSantis, Florida) where resistance to pandemic protocol is maximum. Put the anti-vaxxers, maskers on the island and quarantine them for life.

The latest Covid-19 figures for the U.S. are 49,022,858 cases, 798,894 deaths. Pretty big numbers, wouldn't you say, for 'just a virus?' Something has to be done about these people who have no consideration for themselves and others. Okay, I've got it, call it Cuckoo Island.

The Agony of Stupidity...7 Brainless Doctors Who Never Learned

One, a Dr Bruce Boros was dumb enough to think Ivermectin would help, he said... “I have never felt healthier in my life.” Then the idiot cardiologist and staunch anti-vaccine advocate caught Covid-19 two days later. Head event organizer, Dr John Littell told the Daily Beast...

six other doctors among 800 to 900 participants at the event also tested positive or developed Covid-19 symptoms “within days of the conference”.

You have to wonder what part Florida Gov., the demented DeSantis, had to do with all this, if not directly, most certainly indirectly. But apparently these docs flew in from other states, so, obviously Littel would say they brought the virus in with them. Littel said...

“Everybody so far has responded to treatment with ivermectin … Bruce is doing well.”

However...

"The Beast said sources close to Boros said he was gravely ill at his Key West home."

This incident just proves, once more, that you cannot believe anti-vaxxers, and here you have a supposedly educated group of physicians. In a Facebook post Boros...

"condemned Dr Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, as “a fraud” and said 'big pharma is playing us for suckers.'”

Dr. Peter Hotez On Vaccine Disinformation...

There's more, Boros even "criticized his 97-year-old father" for getting the coronavirus vaccine, saying...

“He had been brainwashed … He got it. He didn’t tell me. I was very upset. I wanted to give him a spanking. He got both jabs.”

This kind of talk coming from a medical professional is unconscionable since it becomes authoritative to those susceptible to the anti-science movement that has killed. It would be nice to know how many have died from irresponsible pariahs like Boros. The doc should know that Ivermectin was discredited earlier this year "after data was found to have been falsified and patients nonexistent." It would seem to me Boros' actions border on mal-practice.

Finally, a warning from the FDA...

people should “never use medications intended for animals on yourself or other people. Animal ivermectin products are very different from those approved for humans. Use of animal ivermectin for the prevention or treatment of Covid-19 in humans is dangerous.”

And this is why you should never believe an anti-science advocate.

ANTI-VAXXERS gather this weekend to kill more people

In a state that has already experienced over 16,000 deaths from Covid-19, two of its mentally challenged, anti-vaxxing residents have decided to put together a super-spreader event this weekend to celebrate, you guessed it, even more deaths. NPR reports Ty and Charlene Bollinger, known for their position as one of the 12 people...
responsible for the bulk of the misleading claims and outright lies about COVID-19 vaccines that proliferate on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Charlene Bollinger decided, and rightfully so, that Nashville, TN would be the perfect place to hold their "freedom fighting" idiot fest. In the last few years, Tennessee has succumbed to a majority mix of conservative morons who, in 2016, pledged all eleven electoral votes to Donald Trump. This event is called, "The Truth About Cancer," a statement that couldn't be further from the truth. And get this...

The event's lineup will reflect those political views [the Jan 6, Capitol insurrection] and feature Donald Trump's son Eric and longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone.

Joe Biden talks about Anti-Vaccine Protesters ‘Threatening’ Doctors And Nurses In Tennessee

Lisa Fazio, a misinformation researcher with Vanderbilt University says, "People like us, believe these things," which sounds like, if the following is correctly understood, means they just believe in conspiracy theories...

Fazio says some people may show up to this conference for one conspiracy theory and learn about another, giving misinformation the opportunity to cross-pollinate.

It sounds to me like all these people have been cross-pollinated with the moron gene, and, as Fazio adds, "If you're part of this community, you believe the entire pot."

Anti-Vaxxers a Steel-Trap of Misinformation

In an earlier post, I mused over a friend who was in contact with an ardent anti-vaxxer/masker person who had recently caught a mild case of coronavirus. This person was implying that their position of having refused the vaccine earlier, subsequently getting the virus, now put them in the position of having the kind of antibodies that would keep them safe from any repeat of the Covid-19. My friend did her best to lay out some scientific facts the denier would have none of.

Like, recent studies suggesting a mild case of coronavirus produced antibodies that lasted for only around three months. The reply was, your science is corrupted and experts like Dr. Fauci are afraid to tell us the truth. You cannot, or, at least, it is useless, to argue with the acuteness this kind of person protects their beliefs. When they search deep down inside, however, they must know they are wrong. If not, you have to question the level of their mentality when the facts are

staring them in the face.

Apparently this group of way-out-withholders skipped the discipline of science in the first 12 grades where factual data proved a point and was generally accepted. A both commonplace and specific questioning of science today comes at a time when the need to respect credible research and development has become imminent due to the fact that over 700,000 Americans have so far died from Covid-19. This need to believe transcends the petty convictions held by these anti-science groupies.

Watch...Having Covid-19 v. getting vaccine

Well, all you rabid deniers, your justifications for delaying, denying, denying, whatever you want to call it could kill you...and other innocent family, friends or just someone you come in contact with. A Yale Univ./Univ. No. Carolina says...

“Reinfection can reasonably happen in three months or less,” explains lead study author Jeffrey Townsend, the Elihu Professor of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, in a university release. “Therefore, those who have been naturally infected should get vaccinated. Previous infection alone can offer very little long-term protection against subsequent infections.”

The key here is "long-term," a period not yet specifically determined by the scientific community, but known to be significantly better than the 3 months offered by a mild infection of coronavirus. Added to this are the unknowns centered around the fact that the Delta has not yet been fully vetted so it is impossible to predict where this virus will go. And, of course, there is always the possibility of a new mutation sneaking up from somewhere.

It isn't that Americans should live in constant fear of being infected; Dr. Fauci nor the CDC want that, nor is it recommended. But, in this time of crisis there are simple precautions known to prevent the spread of Covid-19: vaccinate; wear a mask; honor reasonable distancing; and stay away from misinformation. Re. the latter, in a recent The Guardian headline...

"Anti-vaccine chiropractors capitalizing on Covid and sowing misinformation"

That's like having a whole faction of the medical community propagating falsities

that could kill their patients and innocent outsiders. And here's an example of the political right that, God knows, those pathetic followers of the Republican Party will believe right to the death. Former rabid congressman, Allen West, unvaccinated and in the hospital with coronavirus related pneumonia and low oxygen, still rants on his Twitter account debasing the vaccine.

So, does blogging like this do any good? Probably not for the die-hards. But there might be some of the on-the-fence Anti-All gang who take these facts and decide to get vaccinated, wear a mask, and observe the protocols from the CDC. If not, well, it's your life to kill.

Covid-19 Mandates targeting Anti-Vaxxers are Coming...And Fast

There are gun nuts, and then there are anti-vax nuts. Right now it is the latter who are killing innocent American citizens. I feel sure all the fair-minded and lucid thinkers of the U.S. wholeheartedly welcome this headline from Daily Beast: "America’s Finally Telling the Anti-Vax Nuts Where They Can Go." Many of us bloggers have ideas of their potential destination and just today I have come up with, outer space, a location befitting their far-out beliefs.

It is perhaps a coincidence that as I began to construct this post, a friend of mine received a phone call from an anti-vaxxer, anti-masker, anti-distancer and anti-anything else that is based in scientific fact. It was a long and frequently confrontational conversation because he is just as sure of his position in intelligence as the anti-everything on the other end. This person is a confirmed know-it-all with a perspective intensified by the defense of her position.

Here's a gaffe made by this person during the debate that throws the whole anti-bunch movement out of kilter. The talker doesn't believe in the science of vaccines but does believe in the fact that, by having had coronavirus, antibodies are created that protect her in the future. Isn't that science? My friend didn't press the point because the opposition throws up a shield for anything fact-based, saying the

people we follow are afraid to tell us the truth.

This individual is living with a built-in obstinance of logic. Science Daily says...

infants are capable of deductive problem solving as early as 10 months of age, a new study by psychologists at Emory University and Bucknell finds.

Is it possible there is a wire loose in the brains of the anti-science group and, if reconnected, it could solve the Covid-19 pandemic? If only it could be this simple, but, no doubt, there would be thousands of excuses to deny surgery. Sometimes I wonder if they enjoy this kind of independent beligerantism. Did I just coin a word? Here's another headline from The Daily Beast...

"One Thing Will Save Us From These Suicidal Lunatics—Mandates"

Here are some examples from New York city, which is supposed to be somewhat sophisticated,,,

One of the points this anti-science person made on the phone was that Covid-19 is no worse than the annual flu. I did some research and re. this she was so far off it is laughable. In the 2019-2020 flu season, according to the CDC, there were 20,000 flu-related deaths. Johns Hopkins Univ. reports there were 352,000 coronavirus deaths in 2020. And already in 2021 353,000 deaths from the virus. Logic would indicate it is downright foolish to compare the two.

The 1918 flu pandemic which killed 50 million was a wake-up call for the treatment of viruses. Covid is brand new with scientists facing a virus so far they aren't even sure where or what it came from. But did you know that misinformation spread during 1918, like in 2020, but at that time they didn't have platforms of social media that are available today. In my wife's discussion, the other side listed the hospital where she worked as her source. Today, misinformation is a business.

And the word is also being spread by politicians questioning the validity of the virus making it near impossible for the uneducated to know what to do. Here is a classic example...

GOP lawmaker says COVID deaths are a Vatican plot — and vaccines contain 'living organisms with tentacles'

This blithering idiot is from New Hampshire and is typical of what some GOP lawmakers in Congress come up with regularly.

Science will prevail, must prevail, if we are to survive this pandemic. One can only wonder if these lunatics will ever realize the truth.

NEWS FLASH: Facebook down globally...Anti-vaxxer misinformation a cause?

Recently I googled "facebook anti vaxxer posts," and got almost 13 million hits. Considering it is specific to anti-vaxxers, it shows the activity on Facebook that is centered around the people who spread misinformation on Covid-19. Everything from pushing the drug Ivermectin, a medication for animals, to literally entering

ICU wards and attempting to talk the coronavirus sick into leaving the hospital. Not just misguided advocates, doctors have also joined this gang of imbeciles.

The big news, Facebook and its several apps are down globally.

Now you have to wonder at this point if some poor, fed-up family member who lost a loved one due to this stupid misinformation has somehow hacked into Facebook's internal workings and plunged the whole system into chaos. They are saying it is one of the longest outages for this social media site. All of its apps went down simultaneously provoking the possibility, if by design, it certainly was well planned. No one as yet has taken credit.

Some experts are blaming it on DNS and BGP. Don't want to be responsible for a conspiracy theory, but the "haters" are just as vociferous on both sides of this issue. Some are exclaiming it is a "massive hack." And, Mark Zuckerberg, along with the Facebook properties, have been repeatedly under investigation by the feds, alluding to the fact that maybe some of the accusations could be correct. Could the recent 1.5 billion theft of FB files be connected? No one knows yet.

Well, Facebook is back up but its own engineers are still leery whether The DNS and BGP connection are solid. If this was a hack job, well, no one is talking about it yet. If the mishap wasn't malicious, then, does that mean FB's team of supposed technical pros were out to lunch when this happened. Or, has the company simply strung together too many apps, and this is what happens when they can't talk to each other anymore. Whatever, bet Zuckerberg won't sleep tonight.

The Agony of Stupidity...If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population

The above statement is from A Christmas Carol, said by Ebenezer Scrooge, talking about the poor people of his village. The comment also reflects the latest feelings by a vaccinated public fed up with the anti-vaxxing population. If you are a Cat Stevens fan, here is what he had to say in one of his songs that also applies...

“If you want to leave, take good care, hope you make a lot of nice friends out there.”

If we are to assume "out there" could be death, then the singer would appear to be in agreement with Scrooge. Here's another quote from Leonard Pitts Jr. in an opinion piece from the Tampa Bay Times...

"Your quitting your jobs goes a long way toward purging us of the gullible, the conspiracy-addled, the logic-impaired and the stubbornly ignorant."

This is, of course, Florida, where one of the country's preeminent Killing Machines rules, Gov. Ron [demented] DeSantis. Pitts directs his ultimatum to those who have quit their jobs rather than get vaccinated. If you care, here's why people are refusing the vaccines...

Pitts' deniers include...
"a nearly-30-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department surrendered his badge rather than comply with the city’s requirement that all employees be inoculated against COVID-19. He joins an Army lieutenant colonel, some airline employees, a Major League Baseball executive, the choral director of the San Francisco Symphony, workers at the tax collector’s office in Orange County, Florida, and, incredibly, dozens of health care professionals."

The Daily Beast just published an article under this glaring headline, "Mocking Unvaxxed COVID Victims Is the New Pandemic Blood Sport." They deserve it and that is precisely what this blog post is meant to do, "mock" the looney bins that think they know more than the scientific experts.

I am encouraged by the fact the mock site, Sorryantivaxxer.com, uses my favorite term to describe anti-vaxxers, "They are all idiots.” DB explains...

"The website is indeed likely the most comprehensive repository of one type of now-familiar COVID story: the one where someone who criticized the vaccine ends up dead or hospitalized due to the virus..."

Okay, I live in Arizona, a state that was red when we moved here over twenty years ago. Although it is slowly turning from purple to blue, there are still a number of mentally depraved Republicans. Like Gov. Doug [dufus] Ducey, a sworn Donald Trump mentor, Pres. of the Senate legislature and proprietor of the sham 2020 election audit, Karen Fann, and Kari Lake, former television novice and current political hack who wants to be the next governor.

They, and others like them, are the ones who have perpetuated misinformation like the current craving for Ivermectin, a deworming drug for animals, that these right-wing morons are taking to treat coronavirus. It can sicken you and can cause death. Feed stores in Phoenix have been complaining for some time now they don't have enough of the medication to supply their animal customers. Podcaster Joe Rogan was a big promoter of Ivermectin, as was Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

But returning to Scrooge's proclamation, "If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population," I have said for months now, corral all these anti-vaxxers/maskers in a gulag where they can ply their beliefs between a    population of like morons and kill each other. It would save us zillions on healthcare and eliminate having to hear about the latest idiot that refused to get his or her coronavirus vaccine.

IDAHO: Ground zero for latest Covid-19 stupidity...

THERE'S MORE: With overflowing morgues and ICUs in Idaho, its imbecile Gov. Brad Little threatens to sue Pres. Biden over his "plan to fine private employers with 100 or more employees that do not mandate the COVID-19 vaccine or routine testing.” Yes, let's kill more Idahoans???

UPDATE: More Idaho Covid-19 health crisis...774 hospitalized, 206 in ICU. Looks like more Idahoans getting vaccinated. READ MORE.

Idaho currently has 249,740 cases of coronavirus, 2,753 deaths. Their total cases and deaths per 1,000 population are closely comparable to Texas and Florida, two of the worst states for Covid-19 in the country. Why? One good reason is the state has vaccinated only 41.3% of its population. Dr. Carolyn McFarlane, medical director, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, muses over their problems...
"To handle all the patients coming in, the hospital has transformed a storage room into more treatment areas inside its emergency department."

"Now it's been rearranged as curtains with tags as room numbers, we staff it with a nurse, two if possible, but we don't always get that," said Michael Young, an emergency room nurse.

Rationale in a state that appears not to want it: Idaho ICU doctor: 'It didn't have to be this way.'

To give you an idea of the background of stupidity in the Idaho crisis, Ashley

Carvalho was a few hours into her night shift as a doctor in a Boise, Idaho, hospital earlier this month. A man in his 40s with Covid-19 was deteriorating and Carvalho was doing her best to keep the family abreast of his condition. She remembered another similar incident, a man with the virus, where she had taken abuse from the family for not treating him with ivermectin.

Ivermectin, of course, has been judged dangerous by the CDC with recommendations never to use. The confrontation continued until police had to remove the man’s family. The reason was...

the son-in-law told her, “If you don’t do this [Ivermectin], I have a lot of ways to get people to do something, and they’re all sitting in my gun safe at home.”

Not only is this doctor dealing with a medical crisis, but she also has now encountered a dangerous gun nut threatening her life. Now here's a reaction from Idaho's governor, Brad Little...

“What is absolutely certain today, may not be certain tomorrow,” said Little when asked what he has learned during his tenure throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now that's deep and, if it is what the people of Idaho want to hear, well, no wonder so few are vaccinated, and no wonder the halls of its hospital are lined with dying patients. Good God! The state obviously has no leadership. It's been said hundreds, perhaps thousands of times, but I can't resist saying it again, Little is another Killing Machine in a long line of Republican state heads. And, if the Idaho population has a death wish, just like Ebenezer Scrooge said in the Christmas Carol...
“If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

Dreadful advice, but it seems that this is what the anti-vaxxers are searching for.

Two innocent victims murdered by anti-vaxxers

On Wednesday of last week I did a post on Ray DeMonia, who died in a Mississippi hospital 200 miles from his home in Alabama after his family says the health care facility there "contacted 43 hospitals in 3 states in search of a Cardiac ICU bed." The ICU beds in these 43 hospitals were full because of a bunch of unvaccinated morons who care only about themselves. Ray DeMonia was vaccinated which makes these idiot anti-vaxxers look more like the killers they are.

I commented on the trauma the family must have gone through in their frantic search. I wonder what DeMonia's wife must have thought during those hundreds of miles and if she might have been cursing the imbeciles in the hospitals who were preventing her husband from getting the medical assistance he needed. If it were me and it was my wife who needed the bed, I think I might have just stopped at one of the hospitals, identified an anti-vaxxer, and replaced him or her with my wife.

The next report of murder comes from Chicago by Mercedes Hidalgo whose brother, Daniel Norman Hidalgo, died in a hospital ICU. This expression of grief has not been said any better that I know of during the dreadful coronavirus pandemic...

"I’m so done with all the BS reasons others give for not doing what’s right for their fellow man."

Wisconsin is almost at 60% full vaccination, but there are always those who think

they know better than science. Hidalgo's sister takes another shot at what she considers "fools"...
"My brother, Daniel Norman Hidalgo, is gone because so many people listen to fools and not their own doctors. And because the fools want to make this political instead of caring for others."

The fools she speaks of are the lunatics that lurk around social media sites and spew endless amounts of misinformation that so far accounts for thousands of deaths. The doctors, nurses and other caretakers at the University Of Illinois Hospital in Chicago cried with Mercedes, something those fools responsible for Daniel's death wouldn't understand. He died on September 13, and this article is well worth reading

Covid-19 deaths passed 1918 flu pandemic-Does anyone care?

The suggested number of deaths in the 1918 flu pandemic is 675,000. At this writing, the Worldometer is reporting 692,899 deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic. I expected the media to jump on this and attempt to explain to the U.S. just how we could have been duped again, after having gone through such a teaching crisis. CNBC has its take...
"In 1918, for example, the U.S. population was less than a third of today’s with an estimated 103 million people living in America just before the roaring 1920s. Today, there are nearly 330 million people living in the U.S. That means the 1918 flu killed about 1 in every 150 Americans, compared with 1 in 500 who have died from Covid so far."

The differences are significant, although I'd like to know more in relation to how the public reacted since there was no flu vaccine then and no CDC or national public health department to guide the public. And, so far I have read nothing of the kind of maniac politicians we are stuck with today, like Florida Gov. Ron  DeSantis, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, and So. Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Combined, these Killing Machines have killed 115,458, about 17% of total deaths.

"The pandemic of H1N1 virus in 1918 infected about one-third of the world's population, causing at least 50 million deaths, including more than a half-million in the United States." See more...

Right now only 55% of the U.S. has been fully vaccinated. Anti-vaxxers are running rampant, and threaten the prolonging of the pandemic which will kill scares more Americans. ABC News has an interesting point in the infection evolution of the flu pandemic...
"Something similar happened with the H1N1 flu virus, the culprit in the 1918-19 pandemic. It encountered too many people who were immune, and it also eventually weakened through mutation. H1N1 still circulates today, but immunity acquired through infection and vaccination has triumphed."

In the case of the coronavirus pandemic, so far the virus has "triumphed," with not much hope yet of getting it under control. And, as long as we have scoundrels running major states like Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis, the U.S is not likely to make the progress we need. In fact, it is the whole of the Republican Party that appears to want to keep the Covid-19 pandemic going for some3 reason. Is this a matter of just stupidity or corruption? Perhaps both.

WATCH how anti-vaxxers kill innocent heart patient

Rachel Maddow covers a tragedy caused by anti-vaxxer overflow in hospital ICUs. Here's the scenario...

Ray DeMonia, who died in a Mississippi hospital 200 miles from his home in Alabama after his family says the hospital there "contacted 43 hospitals in 3 states in search of a Cardiac ICU bed."

Can you imagine the horror DeMonia and his wife must have been going through feverishly driving from hospital to hospital, and being turned away with a condition the hospitals must have known could kill DeMonia? I find it hard to believe not one of these medical facilities couldn't have saved this man's life??? Here is Rachel Maddow's take...

Anti-Vaxxers killed this man
in their cold-bloodied refusal of  the Covid-19 vaccine. By the way, Ray DeMonia was vaccinated.

Hit the anti-vaxxers where it hurts...their pocketbook

Let's be reasonable. I have done everything I can to prevent catching Covid-19, including getting the vaccine, wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and staying in my home except for necessities like shopping, going to the doctor, etc. Some, but very little entertainment. The same applies to my wife. I am 89, my wife 77, in reasonably good health for our ages. On the other hand, we know people

even family members, who take none of the above precautions.

Some acquaintances have caught the virus, no doubt needing medical care, and my wife's family of eight all recently came down with coronavirus after openly flaunting it for months. This included two young children under 5, and a mother suffering from cancer and on chemotherapy. My wife agrees with me that they should pay any and all medical bills out of their pockets. It can't get any closer to home than this, compounded by the fact my wife tried to help repeatedly.

Anti-vaxxers are constantly in the news with a staggering amount of arrogance, but a complete lack of science. The latest is their use of Ivermectin to fight the virus, using this in lieu of getting vaccinated. Ivermectin, as you may know, is a drug for treating parasites in animals and has been used in treating tropical diseases on humans. But, the CDC is adamant: Ivermectin should definitely not be taken to treat Covid-19. Just more unnecessary medical bills from stupidity.

It remains to be seen just how much effect the FDA's full approval of Pfizer's vaccine will have on these skeptics. As far as I am concerned that kind of reasoning is for the double-digits and doesn't hold water when it comes to the whole reality of this situation. Especially as the Delta variant rages across the country and we have dimwit Republican governors siding with this radical group. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida's Ron DeSantis come to mind.

I did a blog on this August 2nd, "Private health insurers/Medicare should deny anti-vaxxers coverage," with a picture that should chill the hearts of even the most dedicated anti-vaxxers. It shows a young boy looking through a window from

outside his mother's hospital room, unable to get close to her because she has coronavirus. It is heart-wrenching, but a clear picture of how bad things have gotten. In my blog I said...
"It is getting worse because 1 in 4 Americans are refusing to get the vaccine. In addition to vaccine denial, "Relaxing precautions, such as no longer wearing masks or engaging in social distancing," a major contributor according to leading epidemiologists."

Here's more from my August 2 blog...

"It was actually Piers Morgan that came up with this concept of denying health coverage to those who will deny the vaccination. His headline: "Piers Morgan: If you refuse COVID-19 vaccine and catch the virus, you should be denied state-funded health care and pay for it yourself." I added the idea of including the private insurance carriers. The U.S. currently stands at 49.9% fully vaccinated, with most of the summer still ahead of us."

There's a new trend. Corporations, educational institutions, the health care industry demanding that their people get their vaccinations. More, businesses refuse service to anyone who isn't vaccinated, also requiring a vaccination before hiring. The public is finally coming around to the fact that we are being taken advantage of. If you want to be obstinate about getting vaccinated, then you're on your own. If you think you can handle all this, then just continue to be an idiot.

Republican killing machines: Gov. Ron DeSantis/Gov. Greg Abbott

The Republican death cult has smoothly extended its reach from a general attitude of callousness for the American people to actually proposing and legislating their deaths in the case of the Covid-19 pandemic. Moscow Mitch McConnell led this movement when during Barack Obama's administration, saying he could care less about America. All he wanted was to deny Obama a second administration. He didn't. But McConnell has gone on to continually attempt thwarting the Democratic agenda.

Then only recently Moscow Mitch did the same with President Joe Biden, followed by Kevin McCarthy's invitation to insurrectionists to join the Republican Party. As L. Davis Bond said in the Galveston County Daily News...

"These two men care nothing about America. They only care about getting elected, so they can take care of the rich and be rich and powerful themselves."

And there you have the basic purpose of the Republican Party, the above and to stay in power so they can stonewall or undo anything in the Democrats' a

genda. The GOP has no mission of its own, only to block the left at every turn. And this goal has become more obvious as Republican governors like Florida's Ron DeSantis and Texas' Greg Abbott have become killing machines to circumvent every move Joe Biden makes in his objective to control the deadly coronavirus.

I have done a series of posts documenting just how Abbott and DeSantis have attempted to literally destroy their states by blocking any precautions set up by the CDC, especially banning mask mandates and undermining vaccinations. All this when Texas has 3,322,528 cases, 54,385 deaths; Florida 2,875,150 cases, 40,528 deaths. Combined, there are over 6 million cases between the two, and Texas is number one in new cases and new deaths. Here are some of my posts...

Who should know more about addressing the coronavirus than the scientific community, which all Republicans seem to disregard with disdain: "More than 800 Florida physicians implore Gov. DeSantis to allow local school mask mandates."

Greg Abbott has mercilessly pushed his denial in Texas forcing one school superintendent to comment that she "can't do the one thing she wants to protect students." Further, "'I am frightened by what is coming': Texas officials scramble to staff hospitals as Covid-19 surge continues."

And here's one that takes the cake, DeSantis and Abbott screwing around with peoples' lives, especially the school children: "Abbott and DeSantis playing 'game of chicken' in balance between killing their constituents and owning the libs: columnist."

Abbott at his very best putting his killing machine in motion: "Texas governor files legal challenge to end Dallas County mask mandate."

After the above, there should be no doubt that the Republican Party places

absolutely no value on the lives of American human beings. They can try and explain it away with any number of excuses, but it still comes down to their greed for power. But what is even more frightening is that a certain portion of American's agree with this lunacy, thus, why these political lunatics do what they do. The ringleaders are Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott but there are more.

President Biden has come on strong against those GOP governors that rally against masks and the vaccine telling them to act to save their constituents or "Get out of the way." If they don't, they may have no choice in 2022 and 2024.

Here are three of my recent blogs on the Covid-19 pandemic:
