Donald Trump: Amid the chaos, some good news

King Charles of the U.K. is scheduled to visit the U.S. on April 27, but Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been urged to "cancel King’s state visit due to Trump's 'dangerous' behavior." Here's the scenario...

"The leader of Britain’s Liberal Democrats party, Ed Davey, dubbed President Donald Trump a 'dangerous and corrupt gangster,' pleading with Prime Minister Keir Starmer to cancel King Charles’ visit to the U.S."
Now, Great Britain is perhaps our closest ally, as we continue to lose them due to Dufus Rump's insane antics, and one of their leading politicians calls the U.S. president a "dangerous and corrupt gangster." Nothing yet from Trump but his retort should be a doozy.

And China outwardly defied Donald Trump by sending a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, exclaiming the U.S. blockade was "dangerous and irresponsible" If there were expectations of WWIII, I would guess it would more likely start between China and the United States. Right now, another aggressor, Russia, is too tangled up in its war with Ukraine and an uncertain economy.

Robert Reich, the epitome of credibility, says, "Trump's mental state in death spiral,"

adding, "
even his allies are calling him 'insane.'" This is the guy who sits in the Oval Office, leading the operations of our country, of late, directing its moves to destroy everything our forefathers stood for some 250 years ago. Donald Trump plans to celebrate this anniversary by building a 250 ft. "Triumphal Arch" on the National Mall. It will include...
"a massive state fair-style exhibition with pavilions, a national prayer event, and a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore."

How often have we heard Donald Trump described as a lunatic, a maniac, obviously mentally unbalanced? Maybe not as many times as he has lied but getting close. Regardless, the Republican cowards of Congress sit on their butts, a likely place their brains reside these days. It is both laughable and tragic.

Reich points out Trump's disoriented response to the NYTimes when his mental health and stability were questioned...

“'HAVE THEY NO SHAME? HAVE THEY NO SENSE OF DECENCY?' Trump posted in CAPITAL LETTERS about the Times, inadvertently echoing the famous words of Joseph Welch when standing up to Joseph McCarthy during the Army-McCarthy hearings of 1954. Trump went on to take issue with the Times’s coverage of his war in Iran rather than his mental state, as if to prove the Times’s point."
Franklin Graham suck-up Trump
But here's the kicker that has Billy Graham/ still tossing in his grave. Graham's son, "Franklin Graham defends Trump from backlash over image depicting himself as Jesus." Whether you are a believer or not, this is pure blasphemy, and here is its definition from AI...
"In the Bible, blasphemy is defined as showing great disrespect, contempt, or irreverence toward God, sacred things, or His name."

To portray Donald Trump in any way connected to Jesus Christ is as irreverent and disrespectful of God as you can get. Franklin Graham is an idiot and is obviously in an attempt to curry the favor of Trump to benefit himself. Graham should go down with Trump.

Yes, this good news you can believe in all the turmoil of Donald Trump and how his administration has wreaked havoc on our country. Thanks to a move by Abigail Spanberger, Virginia’s governor, the U.S. comes closer to the popular vote deciding the winner of presidential elections. Here are the results...

"A national majority vote for president is one step closer to reality after the Virginia governor, Abigail Spanberger, signed the national popular vote bill into law, joining an interstate compact with 17 other states and the District of Columbia.

Under the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, states would assign their presidential electors to the winner of the popular vote, regardless of the results within the state. The compact takes effect when states representing a majority of electoral votes – 270 of 538 – pass the legislation and thus would determine the winner of the presidential contest. With Virginia, the compact now has 222 electors."

And this past week in Phoenix, Donald Trump came to town for the "Build the Red Wall"

Erika Kirk - Donald Trump
rally, where he was introduced on stage by Erika Kirk, who heads up the questionable group, Turning Point USA. She gave Trump a quick hug and then scurried off the stage. Earlier, Kirk's/Trump's event was booted off the Pinnacle High School campus because the students and parents didn't want her there. Rumors abound that her hurried exit was due to repeated threats against her.

Pinnacle High School principal Jeremy Richards sent families a notice Thursday announcing the event would be relocated off school grounds and pushed to after the final bell, saying the visit had the potential to create serious problems for the school day, The Daily Beast reported Friday. Here's the scenario...

"Kirk’s quick departure may be linked to heightened safety concerns; she had just canceled a Georgia appearance earlier this week due to "very serious threats.

"This comes after her controversial embrace with J.D. Vance last year, but instead of being awkward, it was rather intimate, which she tried to brush off with a joke."

The time will come for Erika Kirk to fish or cut bait on many fronts and the biggest will be just how sincere she is about carrying on the questionable mission of Turning Point USA.

But I have to leave you with this statement by Donald Trump to Dr. Mehmet Oz, the longtime TV personality-turned-Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Dufus Rump said that diet soda must have anti-cancer properties because “it kills grass.”

Now all we need to do is find Trump's financial connection with the diet soda market.

Pete Buttigieg couldn't be more wrong about Bernie

Pete Buttigieg just said, "he doubts fellow hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) can beat President Trump in a general election." Boy was I wrong when I suggested a ticket with him as Bernie's vice president. It is just damn arrogant of a newbie like Buttigieg, whose only political career so far has been mayor of South Bend, Indiana, to make a prediction about a seasoned, experienced and dedicated politician like Bernie Sanders.

On the other hand, I think Franklin Graham's attack on Bettigieg as a gay man is beyond bad taste. This country is trying its best--and is failing by the way--to erase the prejudice of racism and sexual orientation. Graham said...
the Bible defines homosexuality as “something to be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised or politicized.”
That's very interesting since I am just finishing a book, The Bible Unearthed, which makes an excellent case that the Bible's accuracy is, at best, questionable on all levels. This is supported by excavation uncovering complete cities with the artifacts to prove their theories. Graham probably wouldn't know about this and would refute it if he did. Still in the process of excavating, who knows what these archaeologists will find of homosexuality in biblical times.

Sanders's campaign manager, Faiz Shakir, replied to Buttigieg's comment with...
"At a time when Trump has lied to millions of Americans and sold out workers, voters are looking for a leader who they can trust will fight for them," obviously talking about his candidate, Bernie Sanders.
It will be interesting to see if Bernie's age or Buttigieg's being gay will affect their election chances. But so far both are front -runners.

Evangelicals do "celebrate" Donald Trump, even though...

Billy Graham
...they know all about Donald Trump's affair with Stormy Daniels, his endorsement of alleged sexual abuser Roy Moore, his reference to “shithole” countries, his toxic tweets, recurrent racism, or general crudity, and a multitude of other things the Oval Office lunatic has said or done over the past two years. One thousand--can you believe it--evangelical ministers, supposedly of God, "plan to meet the president, both to “celebrate” his accomplishments (as one leading pastor put it) and to rally Christians for the midterm elections."
Former GWB speechwriter, Peter Wehner, revealed in a New York Times op-ed page last December, “Why I Can No Longer Call Myself an Evangelical Republican.” After being a part of both the evangelicals and the Republican Party all his life, it took Trump's endorsement of Roy Moore to make him reconsider. His opinion of Donald Trump's Republican Party is...
"a threat to conservatism, and I have concluded that the term evangelical—despite its rich history of proclaiming the ‘good news’ of Christ to a broken world—has been so distorted that it is now undermining the Christian witness.
I was a huge fan of Billy Graham, even though I am an agnostic, and believe he showed the epitome of living what you preach. But I agree with Stephen Prothero, a professor of religion at Boston University, who wrote in Politico...
“to chart the troubled recent course of American evangelicalism—its powerful rise after World War II and its surprisingly quick demise in recent years”—one need look no further than the differences between Graham and his eldest son, Franklin, who took over his empire."
Prothero talks of the fact that Billy Graham was "a powerful evangelist who turned evangelicalism into the dominant spiritual impulse in modern America.” But, "his son [Franklin] is 'a political hack' who 'is rapidly rebranding evangelicalism as a belief system marked not by faith, hope, and love but by fear of Muslims and homophobia.'” Franklin Graham clearly qualifies as a religious fanatic in the worst way. Martin Luther symbolized modern-day evangelicalism with his fierce ideas, vehement language, and combative intellectual style. Evangelicals have carried the ball from there.
