You think coronavirus is bad, let me tell you about the after effects

The CDC's Dr. Anthony Fauci has all but demanded that the American public wear a mask, and stay at a distance of at least six feet when in a social gathering. He couldn't demand it under non-believer Donald Trump, but we got the message. At least those of us who have asserted the mentality to believe the scientists who have been proven to be correct with the facts over and over. Fauci and his peers have taken it further by warning against gathering in large numbers.

However, the mentally challenged non-believers continue to startle those of us daily who are confident just how bad the pandemic is. In the U.S. alone as of today, there have been 21,800,681 COVID-19 cases, 369,135 deaths. Folks, that's over 350 million fathers/mothers, brothers/sisters, grandfathers/grandmothers, uncles/aunts and just friends who have died unnecessarily because Donald Trump and his gang of incompetents failed to address the pandemic.

Here's a headline from GBH News that puts this all into perspective: "How Many Have To Die Before Nonmask Wearers Realize The Pandemic Is Not A Joke?" And what these people don't take into consideration--probably due to their impaired mentality--is the fact that not wearing a mask could lead to the death of others, even family and friends. And then there are those who say, "It's only a virus." Stupid as it may seem, this concept is shared by many non-believers.

Yes, it is a virus that, aside from its infectious nature requiring a possible hospital stay to shed the infection, has potential long-lasting effects that make it much more than "just an infection." An article in Elemental, "The Long-Term Health Impacts of Being Infected With the Coronavirus," talks about just that. Keep in mind now, this is well after you have suffered though the infectious stage of the virus, which can be agonizing, according to survivors.

There is plenty of talk out there about catching the virus and potentially dying from it but not as much about the after effects following initial stage recovery. You're better now and you didn't die so you're home free. Afraid not. Elemental, a new science-backed health and wellness coverage publication, says...

"There is growing concern about the potential long-term consequences of Covid-19, with reports of symptoms lingering for weeks and even months."

First concern, your lungs...

"The good news is that if your symptoms are relatively mild and you don’t need to be hospitalized, there are good reasons to believe you’ll make a full recovery."
However, Albert Rizzo, MD, chief medical officer of the American Lung Association, says there is a risk of scarring and more permanent lung damage in people who are hospitalized and ventilated.

Next, your heart...

"Over the past two months, one of the deadliest effects of Covid-19 that has emerged is its impact on the heart.

“'I think what is clear is that there are a number of different [cardiovascular] manifestations of Covid-19,' says Mariell Jessup, MD, chief science and medical officer of the American Heart Association. “Some people are getting this heart attack looking syndrome, some people are getting this myocarditis kind of syndrome, and some people are just getting garden-variety heart failure in response to an overwhelming pulmonary infection."

The brain...

"There is mounting evidence that SARS-CoV-2 also impacts the brain. In a study of 214 Covid-19 patients, one-third experienced neurological symptoms, including dizziness, headache, and cognitive impairment."

The body's immune system...

"Another consideration is how SARS-CoV-2 could impact a person’s risk for other infections. In a recent study, researchers found that 20% of people with Covid-19 were also infected with other viruses, including influenza, rhinovirus, and respiratory syncytial virus."

And don't forget your overall well-being...

"A final consideration is the consequence of hospitalization or weeks of being bed-bound on the body’s recovery. The consensus is that the worse someone’s health was before they got infected and the more severe their coronavirus infection was, the longer it will take them to regain their strength."

Rizzo says “It can take months to a year for some of that recovery to occur. But as you might suspect, it’s going to vary from individual to individual, again based on what was their condition prior to that care and how severe was their case." The point is that we have a new variant of the virus which is supposed to be significantly more transmissible, thus, more cases and more deaths. More on that coming up in a new blog.

The general consensus is practice the virus guidelines and stay as far away from COVID-19 as you can. Three is so much more in this article that you should read.

trump shuns hospital leaders who need coronavirus direction

Donald Trump doesn't want to meet with hospital officials because he knows he doesn't know what the hell he's doing.

This always works

And, yes, most hospital heads realize Trump hasn't a clue about fighting the coronavirus dilemma but are desperate for help. Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top player in Trump's coronavirus task force said the virus...
"has said that the US has 'not reached our peak,' in terms of novel coronavirus cases, adding that there will be more cases and more deaths, primarily among vulnerable older individuals."
The latest count is "2,885 cases of coronavirus in the US and the disease has resulted in at least 60 deaths." But Fauci isn't getting tested for the virus until there are symptoms, which he advises we all should do...READ MORE...

First step, Donald Trump impeachment conviction - Second step Prison

Donald Trump is being tried in the Senate for inciting an angry mob of his double-digit followers to take over and attempt to destroy the U.S. Capitol. His conviction is at best 75/25, 75 against, but there have some indications since the trial began that Republicans are feeling the heat, recently hearing that their constituents are fleeing the party by the 1,000s. And this may not be his biggest problem. NY Atty. Gen. Letitia James is preparing her case against Trump and it's a doozy.

Trump's complicity in the Capitol riots is settled in his speech to the rioters the day of the insurrection. He takes his last shot at Biden's election results amassing a hoard of lies that mirror the 20,000+ deceptions he spewed during four years in office. By the way, during this diatribe the audience chanted, “We love Trump.” He tells these idiots to go to the Capitol and fight. They did and CNN's Erin Burnet lays it all out in a ghastly timeline that cinches Donald Trump's involvement.

I want to see Trump put in prison, and for a long period of time for his criminal acts while in the White House and what he did on January 6. The most reprehensible act from the ex-oval office lunatic is his incompetence in the handling of the coronavirus pandemic. First it was a hoax, then, it'll go away when the weather gets warm, followed by an insanity of the ages in belittling the CDC and the only one in the administration that knew what was going on, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

And then he appointed Louis DeJoy as Postmaster General, many feel to dismantle the USPS. It helped that DeJoy was a large donor to Trump's election campaign. DeJoy did his appointer's bidding by removing one of the most important tools of the UPSP to expedite mail, sorting machines. Working in the junk mail industry for 35 years and witnessing what these appliances are capable of, I can understand how this move slowed the mail at a critical period during the pandemic and Christmas.

But the kicker comes from a Republican representative from Illinois, Adam Kinzinger, who voted to impeach Trump, and continues to condemn him and his loyal followers for what this maniac has done. In an opinion piece for the Washington Post, Kinzinger said, "My fellow Republicans, convicting Trump is necessary to save America." Continuing, I say this as a lifelong Republican who voted to impeach Trump last month. There's more...

"Winston Churchill famously said, 'Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.' All Americans, but especially my fellow Republicans, should remember this wisdom during the Senate’s trial of former president Donald Trump."

Will Kinzinger's rhetoric do any good, especially considering that fellow

Republicans continue to support Donald Trump. The congressman doesn't think this is all for naught...
"It’s a matter of accountability. If the GOP doesn’t take a stand, the chaos of the past few months, and the past four years, could quickly return. The future of our party and our country depends on confronting what happened — so it doesn’t happen again."

And hate to say it but don't think most of the GOP has learned their lesson, or any lesson, based on the outlook for Trump's conviction. Without this the United States will become the laughingstock of the world (again) and the Republican Party will assume the reputation of nation destroyers. But hopefully the New York Atty. Gen. will proceed with their evidence and put Donald Trump in jail so my wife and I can enjoy our final days knowing there is some justice in our country.

TRUMP LATEST: Trump's COVID-19 results miserable compared to Xo in China

Nation's quote "China under Xi has suppressed the latest coronavirus at the human cost of three lives per million population, the United States under Trump is still struggling to overpower it, having already sacrificed 145 of every million Americans"...

See the source image

Those are overpowering figures when you consider that Donald Trump is nowhere near getting a handle on coronavirus in this country. And what is even worse is that this idiot will not face up to the fact of how incompetent he is, leading the U.S. into more instability and peril on a daily basis. To emphasize the delay, here's a timeline...
"George Gao, director of the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC), spoke with his American counterpart, Robert Redfield, on January 3, alerting him to the arrival of an as-yet-unidentified, pneumonia-inducing virus in the city of Wuhan (news of which the Chinese government would for crucial days withhold domestically). Redfield then briefed Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar on that conversation."
In China, Wuhan was identified as the source of the outbreak and...
"On January 3, the NHC centralized all testing related to the mysterious disease and, two days later, in conjunction with experts in infectious diseases caused by pathogens that jump from animals to humans, completed the sequencing of the genome of the virus."
Trump lies, lies, lies on COVID-19...PATHETIC!...

This information was made available worldwide on January 7, and on January 14, WHO made a somewhat vague announcement to the world on this threat. China's national health Commission confirmed human to human transmission on January 19, with the U.S. moving slowly, mostly observing. On January 24, a complete lockdown of Wuhan was ordered of 760 million people. President Xi worked with WHO, keeping them posted regularly on what he was doing.

In the meantime, Donald Trump was just beginning to drag his feet, setting up a task force...
"led by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to monitor, contain, and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus while also keeping Americans informed on the matter."
Centers for Disease Control Prevention’s Robert Redfield had also been at work preparing for the disease in the U.S. when the...
"World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “global health emergency.” On February 11, it labeled the disease caused by the latest coronavirus, which can culminate in death-inducing pneumonia, Covid-19."
Trump disorientation on coronavirus testing...

It was right at this time that the Oval Office lunatic tweeted his first reaction to dangers of COVID-19 when the first lab-confirmed coronavirus case was reported in Olympia, Washington...
“It’s one person coming in from China and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”
It wasn't "just fine" and as the threat continued to grow, T-rump called it a hoax, then blamed the whole thing on the Democrats, As it spread around the world, Trump placed Mike Pence in charge of response to the virus, and with his incompetence noted, put his moron son in law in charge, where, since then the handling of everything has deteriorated. While the rest of the world gears up for aggressive testing, Trump promises 2% of the U.S. population, grossly lacking.

With the threat of a full-blown pandemic, "all Trump did was ban the arrival of non-US citizens who had recently traveled to China. From then on, he repeatedly touted this as evidence that he had acted early." In the face of clear data this could turn into a worldwide pandemic from his own people, Trump tweeted...
“The coronavirus is very much under control in the USA,”
And yet more disinformation from Donald Trump COVID-19 under control...

He began tweeting that the U.S. would soon have a coronavirus vaccine, which was altogether false and, even today, it is thought to be at least a year before a safe vaccine can be ready for market. It was soon after around mid-March when the White House maniac finally came to his senses, and at about this time Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, came on the scene.

Since then it has been a tumultuous battle between the counterfeit doctor and scientist sitting in the White House and the expert from the CDC, who tries his best to balance the stupidity of Donald Trump with the truth from his office. The big question is...who will win the war, not just the battle?

My thanks to TheNation for this excellent article, which I recommend you read and support the publication.

Bernie out of 2020 race

The Bern has left the race, but not the building...

Image result for bernie sanders exits race
Bernie's big decision
These are headlines I hoped I would never write. But it happened and this great warrior has lost too much of his support to continue. He is solidly behind Joe Biden, but said he would...
"continue to gather delegates — a move that would give him leverage to influence the Democratic platform and continue carrying his message."
We cannot afford to lose Bernie's mission, nor can we let the Progressive movement forget his primary presence. Oh, Bernie Sanders will always be there, as long as he is able to breathe and stand before a loving audience. But now is the time to stand behind likely Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, to beat Donald Trump, no matter what has to be done. Bernie sent emails to his tribe heaping thanks on all those who helped, saying...
"Together, we have transformed American consciousness as to what kind of country we can become, and have taken this country a major step forward in the never-ending struggle for economic justice, social justice, racial justice and environmental justice."
Bernie Sanders with balls
Bernie helped to turn Democratic Socialism into an understandable term to the point today that 25% of the American people embrace some form of socialism. Clearly an underdog in Wisconsin, he still recommended a stay-at-home policy due to the COVID-19 problem. Here is what he said in defiance of a clueless governor supported by a very partisan Supreme Court...
"Let's be clear: holding this election amid the coronavirus outbreak is dangerous, disregards the guidance of public health experts, and may very well prove deadly," Sanders said in a statement released Monday night.

How do I say it, I think there is a great amount of disappointment among his loyal followers, and those who have fallen by the wayside, some of it due to the interferences he has run into along the way. As an example, the tampering with the 2016 primary by then NC chair, since disgraced, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in favor of Hillary Clinton. Many think the Vermont Senator would have beaten Donald Trump.

I
It was apparently the loss of an abundance of young voters that made the difference. The question is now is whether these young people now change their support to Joe Biden or, disillusioned, stay home and not vote. Somehow, we cannot allow that, and with the Bern's exit, Biden must concentrate on bringing this group back into the fold. It will require moving further to the lef,t but Joe Biden must do what is necessary to beat Donald Trump.

And here's the kicker, since Bernie Sanders is officially out of the race, this leaves prior president, Barack Obama, open to campaign for his former vice president. Here's the scenario from This week...
"Obama has refused to endorse a primary candidate since the 2020 Democratic race's jam-packed beginnings, though reports did suggest he was quietly backing Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Other reports suggested he wasn't thrilled about Biden getting in the race, and told Biden's campaign staff to make sure he didn't 'embarrass himself.'"
That is certainly no blessing for Joe Biden, but Barack Obama knows more than anyone just how important it is to beat Donald Trump, so I believe he will come in swinging soon. In the meantime, I plan to practice the Progressive philosophy in what I do or say, and keep the Democratic Socialist concept out there for all who want to learn. The one thing necessary today is beating the coronavirus and hopefully, Dr. Anthony Fauci will remain in control.

The U.S. is still behind in coronavirus testing. WHY?

The short answer to this question is Donald Trump and his incompetent administration, plus a clueless Republican Congress...

Image:

Some states are off the board with testing like New York, where Governor Andrew Cuomo said Monday "there were 950 cases of the virus statewide, the highest of any state in the country. But this is what has happened...
"When the outbreak first came to New York, the state set a target goal of running 1,000 tests a day. By the end of this week, the state expects to be able to perform 7,000 tests per day — an 'exponential increase of what we have done.' Along with the uptick in tests, Americans should expect to see a rise in confirmed cases," Cuomo added.
And that's the problem with coronavirus case numbers across much of the U.S., we won't really know how many cases of the virus there are until we step up the testing. Political has an excellent illustration of test activity, as well as several other components measuring the disease. It shows that so far the United States has given 76,495 tests with 7,721 positive and 112 deaths. Still no comparison with Italy, 134,000 and So. Korea 274,000.

Here's the scenario...
"Many state officials have expressed exasperation over the testing rollout, as it was hampered at first by flawed test kits sent out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to public health laboratories across the country, and then limited by what was then narrow criteria from the agency for who qualified for a test. A shortage of a chemical needed to run the tests last week added to the problems."
Here's what Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, testified in a House hearing Thursday...
"The system is not really geared to what we need right now. That is a failing. Let's admit it."
And who can we thank for that? None other than Donald Trump, who disbanded the National Security Council’s office on pandemics, set up by former President Barack Obama. No doubt just for spite. What do you think the families of those 112 coronavirus deaths, above, think of that? Pathetic! READ MORE...

Dopey Republicans said...Credible scientists said...

This is an argument that scientists and the healthcare community cannot afford to lose...

Image result for donald trump i am king

Here we have one of those stupid arguments that have become commonplace since Donald Trump settled in the White House. The plausible and rational side and the Trump side. leaving the American public in the middle to suffer, some die, from a virus the Oval Office lunatic should have been on the top of from the beginning (having been advised of the potential pandemic on January 18) but clearly has not been. Two months of doing nothing.

Republicans are telling T-rump it should have happened yesterday, referring to the opening of the economy. Credible scientists have shown in a study that, "Social distancing measures may be necessary until 2022 to contain coronavirus pandemic." Okay, there is a middle ground here somewhere and I'll bet the scientific community is more willing to negotiate than are Trump and his minions. Here are the findings...
"In the study, published in the journal Science Tuesday, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health researchers projected that several smaller outbreaks of COVID-19 could follow the more severe pandemic.
"They determined that prolonged periods of social distancing may be necessary in order to control transmission and prevent health care facilities from becoming overwhelmed."
Good illustration of COVID-19 SPREAD...

Obviously it will require a widespread educational program that Donald Trump is no doubt incapable of handling but could be implemented by those in healthcare who know what they are doing. Dr. Anthony Fauci would not be the right leader as long as he is under the thumb of T-rump. Scientists should form their own group like the Democratic governors have done to do their own thing, refusing to let Donald Trump interfere.

This is the case from the right, which you have to understand has no concern for the average American's health but is thinking only of starting up a lagging economy for just one reason, to win the November election...
"President Donald Trump is itching to reopen the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic. And congressional Republicans are mostly giving him the green light — and in some cases, leaning on him to speed up.
"As Trump alternately agonizes over when to push states to reopen and browbeats governors with questionable claims of his superior authority, GOP lawmakers are urging federal guidance that quickly restarts some industries and begins to roll back unprecedented closures of vast swaths of the United States."
There are 24 states with Democratic governors and considering the recent "mutiny," as Trump described it, they plan to do the right thing with their states no matter what the White House maniac says. Naturally, the good guys, and gals, are rooting for the scientists and the governors.

This is an APOLOGY for Iowa's Gov, Jan Reynolds

Gov. Reynolds
Looks like I'm the idiot, not Iowa's Governor, Jan Reynolds. I chastised her for refusing to order 'Stay-at-Home' for Iowans. Turns out Dr, Anthony Fauci has praised her and the state for its great handling of the issue. Please accept my apologies Governor for you and your state.

New disease anti-vaxxers will probably spurn

It's called AFM, which stands for Acute flaccid myelitis that is affecting children. It is a "rare, mysterious and sometimes deadly paralyzing illness that seems to ebb and flow on an every-other-year cycle." Here's even worse news...
"Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said it may bear similarities to polio, which smoldered among humans for centuries before it exploded into fearsome epidemics in the 19th and 20th centuries."
Other countries have experienced it, but AFM is more prevalent in the U.S. where more than 550 Americans have been struck this decade, the oldest 32. In some cases, it started with a cold, got better, but the,n took a turn for the worse when the patient "descended into paralysis." The virus was discovered over 55 years ago, and, although not yet proven, may have mutated to become more dangerous. So far there is no cure but a vaccine is hopeful for the future.

If a vaccine is perfected and placed on the market, will we have to fight once again with these double-digit anti-vaxxers to keep them from killing their children with a new scourge of polio-like illness?

200,000+ COVID-19 deaths should beat Donald Trump in November

Coronavirus deaths in the U.S. are the highest in the world. Add to that the over 7 million cases in this country, also the most worldwide. We are second in new cases and new deaths and number one in serious/critical cases. Faring better in cases per 1,000 population, number 11, deaths per 1,000 pop. at number 10, and number two, behind China, for total tests completed. You can see this all for yourself on Worldometer, which is updated regularly.

And yet another ghastly figure reported by the New York Times, the 200,000+ figure is...

"nearly two and a half times the number of U.S. service members to die in battle in the Vietnam and Korean Wars"

There is no reason for this other than the ineptness of Donald Trump in the running of this country and his hassling of the CDC, which is contradicted regularly by T-rump. If Barack Obama had been this incompetent--and he never would have--the political system would have erupted against him. But that is total hindsight and what we have today is a maniac in the White House who has lied about the seriousness of coronavirus from the beginning.

With around 40,000 new cases a day...

"Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the country’s top infectious disease expert, said he worries about the country entering the cooler months without having a handle on the virus."

Fauci is Trump's favorite whipping guy because the doc tells the truth, something Donald Trump does not understand. Just consider that all this could at least be slowed down if the population would wear masks and practice social distancing. The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Redfield, said "wearing face masks may be more effective at protecting against COVID-19 than a vaccine.

The second major problem--Donald Trump is, of course, the first--is the anti-everything group, vaccines, facemasks, the pandemic. An August study provides that only 65% of the U.S. population use face masks; that leaves 35% who are actively passing around potential COVID-19 contamination. Here's the scenario...

"Still, the persistently high death numbers in the United States stand in stark contrast to mortalities in other high-income countries. Italy, once the center of the pandemic, reported 17 deaths on Monday; Germany reported 10 deaths the same day. In the United States that day, 428 people were reported to have died of the virus."

In the annual UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump once again blamed China's Xi for the coronavirus in the United States. In Xi's reply he, "described China’s response as scientific, generous and responsible," adding..."

“Any attempt at politicizing or stigmatizing this issue must be rejected.”

Donald Trump agonizes over the fact that China has done a much better job of controlling the COVID-19 virus than he did. Much, much! As an example, with a much larger population, China is 43rd in total cases where the U.S is number one. In total deaths China is number 30, the U.S. number one. Once again available on Worldometer. Joe Biden might very well want to study all the numbers and consider whether this might be a leading point in November.

Donald Trump Says He Will Be Indicted On Tuesday

THAT'S TODAY... Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has brought the case to this point, now looking at a possible indictment. Trum...
