The top lobbyist, Chris Cox quit, and one of the NRA's largest donors is calling for the head of top gun nut, Wayne LaPierre. The New York Post says....

"It’s a welcome blow to the lucrative 'nonprofit' racket of milking moral outrage."

According to Yale psychiatrist Bandy Lee, losing the control Trump has had for years could make him extremely dangerous, "an alarming worst-case scenario for the man who commands the most powerful nuclear arsenal in the world."

Ivanka Trump for president? You have to be f***ing kidding. Although she might not be any worse than Mike Pence, which I can't even remotely fathom him being electable, you have to consider the warped mind of Donald Trump and his claim on the Oval Office throne. There has been talk that he wouldn't vacate the White House if he lost in 2020, and he has even mentioned running a "forever" campaign for the presidency. Ivanka could be his ace in the hole.

July 5th, 2019: Blowhard dictator reviews his troops

If it weren't for the fact that Donald Trump mentioned in his July 4th speech that the Continental Army took over the airports (in 1775, or 1812 what airports?), something which gave the whole world a laugh, the fact that he pretty much stuck to his script, plus the fact that apparently pictures reveal he had a relatively decent crowd, even in the rain, otherwise the whole ceremony was a disaster. Here's the statement on 1775...

“The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge,” he continued, “found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown. But the fact that he has always craved power, even from his first childhood, which has carried over into this childhood, where he dreams of being a strong-arm dictator like his idol, Kim Jong un. With tanks, parades, flyovers, all the things that despots do. It's all way out of line since the U.S. is and has been in a mode that does not encourage conflict, rather peace. But this all fits with T-rump's latest crusades in isolationism.

The Blue Angels tribute at McCain’s funeral in Annapolis was in every way more patriotic and inspiring.

Justin Amash exits GOP

U.S. Representative Justin Amash has been a continuing thorn in the side of Donald Trump, criticizing him on several fronts, but primarily arguing that Trump has “engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.” Donald Trump's response to Amash's opinion piece about leaving Congress was, ""one of the dumbest & most disloyal men in Congress." This coming from the dumbest president ever.

In June, Amash left the conservative House Freedom Caucus he helped found, and it should be noted here that Justin Amash is a loyal member of the Tea Party. Not only was he the first House member to favor Donald Trump's impeachment...

"In February, he became the lone Republican to co-sponsor a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to reject the emergency Trump declared at the U.S.-Mexico border to build a wall there, in a stinging reprimand to the president."

Amash is of the opinion that most U.S. voters are not "rigidly" partisan, and they don't feel they are getting the representation they did vote for. He is convinced the Republican Party favors nationalism, a term defined as follows...

"identification with one's own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations."

This is more apparent in Donald Trump's handling of tariffs with countries like China, and the Oval Office lunatic's negotiations with Iran in the nuclear standoff. But most of all it points to the illusion of a Trump massive ego that thinks he can do anything he wants to simply because he is Donald Trump. This is basically a new breed of nationalism spawned by the kind of abhorrent individual that currently resides in the White House.

Yesterday, July 4th, Amash published an opinion piece in the Washington Post...

“Instead of acting as an independent branch of government and serving as a check on the executive branch, congressional leaders of both parties expect the House and Senate to act in obedience or opposition to the president and their colleagues on a partisan basis.”

He followed this with...

“Modern politics is trapped in a partisan death spiral, but there is an escape.”

Justin Amash has been serving in Congress since 2011, and back in May was when he first came out against Trump using the results of the Mueller Report...

Amash said in May that the Mueller report showed Trump had obstructed justice, bucking his party and joining Democrats in castigating the president for his actions. “President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct,” he said.

 The former Republican is considering running against Donald Trump as a Libertarian in 2020. If he does, he'll have to shed his former life as a Tea Partier, and that won't be easy.

The parts above, in bold, illustrate the chronic pathetic nature of Donald Trump.

HAPPY July 4th to all

We celebrate Independence Day annually on July 4. It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States. It is a day for going to the beach or the lake, the mountains, hanging out by the family pool, going to your favorite amusement park or just staying at home with family and friends, barbecuing in the backyard. It is not for dictators.

Greg Sargent's piece in the Washington Post portrays the plans of the desperate, totalitarian Donald Trump in another attempt to boost his ego by making July 4th all about him. Supported by tanks and flyovers, this incompetent tyrant will actually close down Reagan National airport in Washington simply for self-gratification. Sargent says...

"The historians tell us that this is what authoritarian nationalists do. As Harvard’s Jill Lepore puts it, they replace history with tried-and-true fictions — false tales of national decline at the hands of invented threats, melded to fictitious stories of renewed national greatness, engineered by the leader himself, who is both author of the fiction and its mythic hero."

Bingo! That hits the nail right into Donald Trump's head.

Thank God someone in the gun rights community has finally usurped the nerve to go after the National Rifle Assn. (NRA's) head gun nut, Wayne LaPierre. This maniac is the common denominator for all the gun violence since he took office in 1991. It is his firm belief that everyone in this country should be armed with a gun, take it anywhere he wants to, with every American household claiming its own personal arsenal. This offense is purely to sell more guns to appease the gun manufacturers who generously support him and the NRA.

Here's what David Dell’Aquila, LaPierre's hit man, says...

the NRA’s internal warfare “has become a daily soap opera, and it’s decaying and destroying the NRA from within, and it needs to stop”.

“Even if these allegations regarding Mr LaPierre and his leadership are false, he has become radioactive and must step down.”

Don't you love his description of Lapierre as "radioactive?"

A yield curve inverted is predicting Donald Trump's economy is headed for weak or nonexistent growth in the next few years, and little inflation. Yield curves don’t cause recessions, but their inversion can make business leaders reluctant to hire or invest because they’re worried about economic slowdown. The yield curve started to invert in March...

“The alarm’s gone off,” said Campbell Harvey, the Duke University finance professor who first noticed the relationship between yield curves and recessions.

Good start for what would become a "slow-motion train wreck" involving sucking up to Saudi Arabia, ignoring the Khashoggi murder, and Vladimir Putin, ignoring their interference in the 2016 election. Beware of flesh-eating bacteria known as necrotizing fasciitis, which can be caught anywhere the public has been. I know, first-hand, from someone who caught it, they think, in a motel from the toilet seat. It progressed from a dot on the skin to a six-inch grotesque splotch of bleeding flesh in just six days. The person was just minutes from losing a leg, with the doctor at one point concerned the person wouldn't make it through the night. Although left with an obvious scar, otherwise okay now.

Trump to lose big in 2020, according to the same people who accurately predicted the Democratic takeover of the House in 2018. Rachel Bitecofer, assistant director of the Wason Center for Public Policy at Public Policy at Christopher Newport University says Donald Trump will lose the Electoral College 297 to 197. She predicted 40 seats won at midterm, and says with the Democrats agitated as they are, Trump isn't likely to pull off another 2016.

This looney is from the obscure "Heartland Institute, which disavows manmade climate change," but apparently doesn't read authentic scientific studies proving that humans are decimating the earth's eco-system. (NRA) that keeps most Democrats from espousing strong gun control. There are a couple, Booker, Stalwell, but neither is prominent in the polls. Kamala Harris might have potential but what bothers me is the overall pall that spreads through politicians when you talk about banning even assault rifles. Still the killing goes on.

And then Biden says, "that gun manufacturers, not the National Rifle Association (NRA), are the Democratic Party's 'enemy' in its efforts to reform gun control laws. Comments like this are why he's slipping in the polls. The NRA, led by head gun nut, Wayne LaPierre, is what gives gun manufacturers reason to keep making more and more guns, thus, more killing machines on the street. It doesn't help for the leading Democratic contender to protect the NRA.

Trump economy weak and heading down says an Aussie with public policy experience. Here is his assessment...

"During the election we were promised jobs and growth. But in 2019-20 The Conversation’s forecasting panel is predicting an economic growth rate as weak as any since the financial crisis, as well as dismal consumer spending, no improvement in unemployment or wage growth, and an increased chance of recession." 

And Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, says the economic growth isn't as strong as it looks. Much will depend on Donald Trump's tariff wars, which anyone knows could be bizarre.

Bernie Sanders should be delighted, the entire lineup of Democratic Primary candidates has picked up at least one issue that the Bern has been advocating his entire political career. In other words, without Bernie Sanders, we would not have a Democratic platform. And doesn't this say something about the vision of this man that can't be overlooked. If his age is the only barrier, then the selection of a vice president should solve that problem. The Bern deserves a break here.

He was booed heavily at a San Francisco Democratic convention which didn't seem to dim his enthusiasm. Donald Trump campaign member sets up a fake Joe Biden site that ridicules the Oval Office lunatic's highest rated 2020 contender. Shades of Karl Rove methodology. It parodies Biden's campaign and uses out-of-context quotes from the former vice president. This tells me that T-rump considers "sleepy Joe" a real threat to his campaign. Here's an example: "Uncle Joe is back and ready to take a hands-on approach to America's problems." This could definitely backfire.

My earlier post asked, 'if not Joe Biden, who?' is even more appropriate today after Biden's support dropped by 5 points after last Thursday's debate but still maintaining first place position. Kamala Harris surged to 12% to become number three, with Bernie Sanders hanging on to number two. Biden still commands 33% and Sanders at 19%. However, Lindsey Graham said, "underestimate Joe Biden at your own peril." Dems are desperately in need of a solid citizen.

Don't count Bernie out is the word from John Atcheson of Progressive Common Dreams News comparing the Bern to Joe Biden in the recent uncloseted war on Sanders by the Democrats. Biden stumbled in the first debate with attacks from newbie Kamala Harris, but the Vermont Senator continued to hammer away with his crusade to get Wall Street and the wealthy. Bernie still doesn't seem to fear the Socialist label, and polls as well as Biden against Trump. Next debate?

In a move that defies the term "I don't believe it," the Republicans are working in collusion with "a GOP operative whose goal was to create maps advantageous to Republicans and non-Hispanic Whites.” (ie. the recent question added to the Census asking for citizenship, which is currently in the courts.) With the question in jeopardy, Donald Trump has now even asked for a delay of the census. Just further proof that the Republicans will do anything to block Democratic voters.

Democrats took a hit when SCOTUS ruled that federal courts cannot block lawmakers in individual states from partisan gerrymandering in political districts. Whether or not this is illegal, but certainly unethical, "Justice Elena Kagan was among the dissenters in the ruling, quoting her as saying that “partisan gerrymanders” have 'debased and dishonored our democracy.'” It seems pretty clear that, also based on the Census question issue above, the GOP is hell-bent on controlling the 2020 election.

My opinion is that most folks have a large amount of respect for the Dalai Lama, except for Trump supporters, especially after seeing this article. The religious oracle described the U.S. president as scatterbrained, that Trump suffers from a “lack of moral principle.” The Tibetan spiritual leader said, “One day, he says something,” the Dalai Lama said of Trump. “Another day, he says something.” Thus, the premise by many, including well-known psychiatrists, that Donald Trump is mentally unbalanced.

Donald Trump is a fabricated president. Fake, counterfeit, bogus, the list goes on endlessly. Like the phony cover of TIME Magazine that was found hanging in his golf clubs back in 2017. Today the fraudulent "TIME magazine graphic showing himself running for office for the next 1,000 years." A campaign yard sign said, “Trump 2020, Trump 2024, 2028,” well into the year 3,000 to 40,000 and beyond. Carried further, president for life? Something must be done about this lunatic in 2020...or before.
