Friday afternoon news bytes...

"Here are 20 of the most racist things Rush Limbaugh has ever said" ie...
"You just gotta be who you are, and I think it’s time to get rid of this whole National Basketball Association. Call it the TBA, the Thug Basketball Association, and stop calling them teams. Call ’em gangs."
"Joe Walsh pulls plug on presidential run and goes scorched earth on GOP: ‘It’s not a party — it’s a cult’"

Quote from Walsh...
"the conservative Walsh admitted he would rather see a 'socialist' in the White House rather than Trump whom he called a 'danger to democracy.'”
"Lev Parnas hands Democrats a new treasure trove of photos and videos that go far beyond Trump impeachment: CNN"

The question, of course, is what will they do with it??? So far, the party has been totally ineffective in after-impeachment action. These are...
"unseen photographs and videos that bear out his contention that he was working closely with Donald Trump’s attorney despite disavowals."
"Trump’s Jobs Record Is Weaker Than Everyone Thought"

Compare the job figures under Barack Obama with that of Donald Trump...
"In the end, the economy has added fewer jobs in every year of his presidency than it did during Obama’s final one. There never was much of a Trump bump."
"These 3 charts show how Trump’s ‘blue collar boom’ is more of a bust for US workers"

The latest data, adjusted for changes [in nominal growth] in the cost of living reveals...
"the picture changes drastically. And far from representing a 'blue collar boom' – as the president put it in his State of the Union address – the real, inflation-adjusted data show most U.S. workers have not benefited from the growing economy."

"Betsy DeVos’ approval rating is 28 percent as voters back investigations into student debt scandal: poll"

Trump's village idiot, Betsy DeVoss appears to be in trouble, that is in addition to her low approval rating by the public...
"A majority of voters support congressional investigations into Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’ handling of student debt programs, according to the results of a new poll, which exposes how deeply unpopular the Trump Cabinet member is across the country."

"Democrats’ ‘worst nightmare’? Here’s the truth about the freakout over ‘Bernie or bust’"

The moderate Dems must get used to Bernie Sanders popularity among voters and stating riding with it...
"The take-away from all of this is that in every election cycle, a small share of primary voters won’t vote for their party’s nominee unless it’s their preferred candidate, and that’s true regardless of who wins the nomination."
Aside from the Bernie's surging ratings, he also has a considerable base...
'There are 71 million millennials in the United States ages 24 to 39. 26 millennials voted in 2018. Bernie Sanders is ahead in the Iowa Caucuses and he leads in the New Hampshire Primary. So, what does this say for the Bern.'

MORE TEA PARTY STUPIDITY

Today's Tea Bagger
This is the continuation of an earlier post where two Facebook people complained of my referring to Tea Party followers as stupid. As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does," and TPers are an amazing example of this. Here are some more comments from Tea Party greats...

“People now don’t die from prostate cancer, breast cancer and some of the other things.”  – Chris Collins, New York GOP State Rep.

“So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch.”  – Rush Limbaugh

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways of shutting that whole thing down.”  -Todd Akin, former U.S. Rep., Missouri

“I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God. I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”  – Richard Mourdock, Indiana GOP U.S. Senate candidate.
There are more to come and thanks to Americans Against the Tea Party site for the quotes.

GOP Congress reaches new low to overrule 1st Amendment

REPUBLICANS, AND SOME DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS, "WANT TO GIVE PRESIDENT TRUMP THE AUTHORITY TO CLOSE DOWN CERTAIN NEWS OUTLETS": 43 percent of self-identified Republicans said that they believed “the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior.” Of course, that "bad behavior" would include any criticism of T-rump. Dems and Independents joined in but with significantly less numbers, 12 and 26%. respectively. Most agree this is a result of Trump's tweeting of an "enemy press corps."

On the other hand, the Ipsos poll found that 57 percent of all respondents said that they believed news and reporters were “necessary to keep the Trump administration honest” including a plurality of Republicans. There is no doubt that some of the news media skew their reporting either left or right, decidedly Fox News and Sinclair Broadcast. The liberals have their supporters too but there hasn't been anything like conservative radio before in my lifetime, spawned by Rush Limbaugh and sustained by people like Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, all hacks but effective.

Trump coronavirus racism and lack of virus testing unconscionable

That, and there is something else to consider...testing...

See the source image

The increase on Donald Trump's approval for coronavirus handling would be good, except it doesn't consider all the facts. The U.S. lags miserably behind other countries in testing, thus, the number of cases is no doubt drastically more than those recorded so far. As an example, Forbes is reporting...
"As of March 11, South Korea had conducted 4,099 tests per million of its inhabitants while the U.S. only managed 26. The most recent government data was compiled by website Our World in Data and it shows that by March 17, South Korea's number of tests per million people climbed to 5,567 while the U.S. figure increased to 125 tests per million of the population. Even though that should climb steadily over the next couple of days, it is still cause for serious concern."
In other words, T-rump is being given credit for doing a job that is much less than even half done. But, it gets worse. The favorability increased, incidentally, right after he adopted the racist approach of calling COVID-19, the "Chinese virus." His double-digit followers loved it, as did those others who make up the 55% approval rating. RawStory's explanation...
"This is the kind of crisis that opportunistic racists barely dared dream of before. Indeed, Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been all but pleading for weeks for Trump and his fellow right-wing talking heads to move away from denialism and towards racist exploitation."
The obtuse oaf explaining his racism...

[Trump] "like all racist trolls, is playing dumb when called out for it. He’s said it’s 'not racist at all, no, not at all' and that he wants 'to be accurate' and that the virus 'comes from China.'” And listen to this...
"Trump’s racist trolling is sending Carlson into bouts of near-orgasmic ecstasy. On Tuesday, he swooned that the president’s 'Chinese virus' rhetoric was an example of 'Trump at his very best.'”
Which points out the fact of just how racist Fox News is, as well as being the country's largest purveyor of misinformation. Carlson plods on with absurd conspiracy theories that aren't worth mentioning, and then Sean Hannity agrees with lowlife Rush Limbaugh "that the coronavirus crisis was a hoax." Between Fox News and Donald Trump, COVID-19 could be the "death" of the United States.

B-A-N-N-E-D by DAILY KOS for my views on gun rights fanatics – Part 2

New Daily Kos diarist
In the first article in this series, I supplied some background on Daily Kos and how I was banned from that blog.  Unless DK wants to be more specific, the only explanation is that I was drummed out by a gang of guns rights fanatics.  But I doubt the blog can refute the fact that the reaction to my articles on gun control were the reason the Daily Kos “community” kicked me out, unless DK elects to censor me further by deleting all my posts and their comments.

Right up front I will admit that many of my articles were reproachful against gun owners, but were based on my prior experience where gun extremists have reviled my writing using language fit only for a sailor (I was a swabbie).  They were very similar to some you will see here today.  And it is hard for anyone to ignore the daily blasts from the media by gun worshippers who love their guns more than life.  I live in Arizona, the seat of loose gun laws.

See MSNBC's Chris Matthews on gun control below:

Eddie Garcia at work in Vermont

I’ll start the Daily Kos comments with a guy from Vermont who must be sucking too much maple syrup from the trees in his yard.  He goes by the online name of kestrel9000 but his real name is Eddie Garcia and apparently his mother never washed his mouth out with soap.  That is, if he had one.  As an example he commented on my DK articles:

  • “What in the sequined fuck are you talking about?” in reply to another DK diarist who had made an asinine comment on one of my diaries.

  • “Some would say it's fucking weird to come armed to a coffee shop, and if you don't like it, go somewhere else.  it's fucking weird for a black guy to date a white woman.  Others would say it's fucking weid (SIC) for a black woman to date a white woman.  You would ban things on the basis of them being fucking weird?”

  • “you had the stones to answer comments on Daily Kos where you vomited out this piece of shit, minus the pictures and youtubes (wtf are you, lame?) you'd see you're getting your ass handed to you by both sides of the issue, but I bet you don't. Your tipjar now stands at +1/-8. This will be my first and last comment on this blog. You are being hiderated for spamming, hit and run diarying, and bigotry. I'm outta here.”

  • “Another lie: There is no gun show loophole.  The rules regarding private sales do not change regardless of where they take place.”  Now only a complete idiot would make this statement.

But what could you expect from someone whose most recommended diary is Rush Limbaugh.

Here’s one from someone with only the online name of labwitchy:

  • “Well kestrel9000, if people weren't so darn dark there'd be no need to control what they can or can't possess.  i know you get that as snark kes. you know where i stand.  when slaves own guns, masters are in major trouble.  Republicans ARE cooties!” An apparent reply to “gun mouth” re. my post on how racism had been connected to gun control.

Pavepusher’s comment, below, is further evidence of the fact that I was banned from Daily Kos for my views on radical gun rights:

  • “Pack of lies in that ‘video,’ of course.  ‘Concealed assault weapon’ my ass.  You really are a vile fuckwad.  Congrats on getting kicked out of DKos, took you long enough.  Bet you don’t have the intestinal fortitude to let this comment stay.”  I did.

Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas

Looking back on my Daily Kos article comments, you would think that all these people have to do is sit around all day making derogatory statements about anyone who they think wants to take away their precious guns.  It makes me wonder if this is the majority of DK’s traffic, which would indicate a very low-brow profile.  The site’s founder, Markos Moulitsas, might want to take the time to evaluate this…before his advertisers do.

NEXT: More on Daily Kos with additional comments, many from the pro-gun control group.
