Did Cory Booker stir the silent left?

Sen. Cory Booker

The silent left, you know, the apathetics; that bunch that has taken an oath to hear no politics, see no politics, speak no politics. They're convinced what they have to say and their vote don't count so they just stay home and fester. Did Sen. Cory Booker's 25 hour speech, a new record, start the pot simmering when he turned up the flames of democracy? This is the first dramatic move the left has made in a long time and the hope is the base won't let Cory Booker down. Here is Sen. minority leader Chuck Schumer's full statement on the speech...
Washington, D.C. – Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today spoke on the Senate floor to applaud Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) for his record-breaking, 25 hour floor speech fighting for American families against the injustices of the Trump administration. Below are Senator Schumer’s remarks, which can also be viewed here:

Yesterday, my good friend, Senator Booker, delivered the longest address in the history of the Senate to lay the case of Republican cruelty for all of the American people to see.

And as important as the length of Senator Booker’s speech was – and it was phenomenal, the stamina, the preparation, the focus he showed by speaking for 25 hours was amazing enough – but just as amazing was what he said. He shined a light on the terrible dangers the Trump administration poses to the country we love.

I thank him for his brilliance, for his moral clarity, for his inextinguishable passion. It was a speech for the ages. It will be long remembered not only here in the Senate, but throughout America. It was a tour de force like we rarely see here.

Senator Booker, I thank you, the Senate thanks you, but most of all, the American people thank you.

The Silent Left

Take note of the last paragraph where Schumer shares thanks and ends with, "...but most of all, the American people thank you." I personally feel the 'American people' were ready for this and with some help from the left, the long-awaited steps against Donald Trump and his administration will begin. Do you realize, folks, we have nothing to lose. t-RUMP and the White House maniac #2, Elon Musk, have plunged the U.S. into utter chaos with the mass closing of critical agencies and the firing of valued employees.

Booker might have limped off the floor after his 25 hour, 5 minute speech, but what he said was a firm declaration of the corruption and destruction by Donald Trump and his minions, as they destroy the U.S. government. Here's the scenario...
"It was a remarkable show of stamina as Democrats try to show their frustrated supporters that they are doing everything possible to contest Trump’s agenda. Yet Booker also provided a moment of historical solace for a party searching for its way forward: By standing on the Senate floor for more than a night and day and refusing to leave, he had broken a record set 68 years ago by then Sen. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, a segregationist and southern Democrat, to filibuster the advance of the Civil Rights Act in 1957."
And this from the U.S. House...

"House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the first Black party leader in Congress, slipped into the Senate chamber to watch Booker on Tuesday afternoon. He called it 'an incredibly powerful moment' because Booker had broken the record of a segregationist and was 'fighting to preserve the American way of life and our democracy.'”

The Senator wrapped up his speech and then yielded the floor to enthusiastic applause, as reported by ABC...

"From all Americans, this is a moral moment. It's not left or right -- it's right or wrong," Booker said after continuing his speech and touching on everything from cuts to federal programs initiated by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency to the controversy surrounding Trump administration officials' use of the Signal messaging app.

I definitely think the pot has been stirred.

Anti-democracy radical close to V.P. J.D. Vance

Curtis Yarvin
Curtis Yarvin, a “neoreactionary” thinker and far-right blogger, has been described as a serious intellectual influence of vice president-elect JD Vance and being close to several proposed Trump appointees. The Guardian says, "He’s anti-democracy and pro-Trump: the obscure ‘dark enlightenment’ blogger influencing the next US administration." Yarvin advocates an autocratic takeover of the US. Here's the scenario...
"The aftermath of Trump’s election victory has seen actions and rhetoric from Trump and his lieutenants that closely resemble Yarvin’s public proposals for taking autocratic power in America."

Donald Trump's goal is to install himself in the position of dictator, eliminating the laws of democracy, and ruling the U.S. until he dies. But you know what, no one could be his successor, and all successful tyrants want someone to carry on their work. His narcissistic personality would not allow for an ending, so you would have to assume this egomaniac would be looking for a process that would keep him alive forever. I did a blog recently, "Who wants to live forever with a Donald Trump?"

My premise was, who would want to live endlessly if Trump had the same advantage. My post, above, looks at an article from National Geographic, "Could humans live forever?" The Nat'l Geo piece is very complex and I try to make the most of the author's contention that someday we could live forever. But enough of the terribly frightening thought that Donald Trump could live eternally. Back to Yarvin and this scenario...

"Trump’s legal moves against critics in the media, Elon Musk’s promises to pare government spending to the bone, and the deployment of the Maga base against Republican lawmakers who have criticized controversial nominees like Pete Hegseth are among the measures that resemble elements of Yarvin’s strategy for displacing liberal democracy in the US."

Michael Anton, a writer and academic was appointed by Trump to work in a senior role

under secretary of state nominee Marco Rubio. Anton has a podcast on which Yarvin has appeared with his ideological conservatism. And, the Verge reported that no one online has shaped Vance’s thinking more than Curtis Yarvin. Robert Evans, an extremism researcher and the host of the podcast Behind the Bastards said...
“He didn’t fall out of a coconut tree. He emerged into a rightwing media space where they had been talking about the evils of liberal media and corrupt academic institutions for decades.

There's more...

“He has influenced a lot of people in the incoming administration and a lot of other influential people on the right. But a lot of the stuff he advocates is the same windmills Republicans have been tilting at for a while.”

Evans added...

“What’s unique is his way of rebranding or repackaging old reactionary ideas in a way that appealed to libertarian-minded kids in the tech industry, and in eventually getting some of them to embrace a lot of far-right ideas.

"That’s the novelty of Yarvin and that’s his real accomplishment.”

I dare say the corruption of innocent minds by conservatives is not a novelty. We all know it dates back to Newt Gingrich, eventually moving forward to Karl Rove. This guy has simply resurrected a typical Republican strategy.

Will Elon Musk have a desk in the Oval Office?

Elon Musk & Vivek Ramaswamy

It has become dangerously obvious that Elon Musk has assumed a major position in Donald Trump's political decisions. Trump is scheduled to go to the White House in January and it would appear that Musk will be his shadow. Here are some comments from Democrats...

"Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) accused President-elect Donald Trump of being Elon Musk’s “puppet” on Wednesday after Trump followed Musk’s lead in opposing House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) continuing resolution to keep the government open."

Musk knows that if a bill isn't passed by Friday, the U.S. government will shut down. Yet,

Musk said...

“This bill should not pass,” Musk posted Wednesday morning, responding to a post by Vivek Ramaswamy, the co-leader of President-elect Donald Trump’s advisory group Department of Government Efficiency.'
Musk and Ramaswamy have plans, "to slash government spending, including at least $2 trillion in federal programs, a figure experts have called unrealistic." Musk, described as the world’s richest person, is also against a pay increase for members of Congress. In my opinion this Congress does not deserve a raise, rather, they should receive a pay cut for the incompetency they have demonstrated. But with the close margin in the House, it is clear the Republicans will need Democrats to pass any bill.

Musk and Ramaswamy, Donald Trump appointed to lead the nongovernmental group called the “Department of Government Efficiency,” DOGE, spent Wednesday posting on social media pushing Republican lawmakers to vote against a bipartisan stopgap funding bill. Folks, we're just days from a government shutdown, which apparently Trump wants since he supports the Bobbsey twins efforts. Here's a similar situation from 1888 that Donald Trump, today, has brought to American politics...
"One Sunday in March 1888, former President Rutherford B. Hayes wrote in his diary, “This is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people no longer. It is a government of corporations, by corporations, and for corporations.”

There's more,,,

"Hayes offered this private admission at the peak of the Gilded Age, when, as the historian Richard White put it, “corruption suffused government and the economy.” Businessmen amassed fortunes never seen before in American history and demanded government officials aid them in expanding those fortunes further."

And nothing has changed in the year 2024...

"For decades, the influence of money in politics has grown alongside the country’s increasing income inequality. Those who warned about this growing influence have been thoroughly vindicated. This year, Trump’s campaign was fueled by roughly $800 million from seven billionaire families. His administration will include more than a dozen billionaires, the wealthiest since President Warren Harding’s corrupt White House.
And as long as a misguided U.S. public chooses to follow this charlatan, nothing will change.

Donald Trump Says He Will Be Indicted On Tuesday

THAT'S TODAY...Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has brought the case to this point, now looking at a possible indictment. Trump's statements so far have been based only on what he has seen in the media with no direct contact with Bragg's office. The BBC says...

"This case focuses on alleged hush money paid on Mr Trump's behalf by his lawyer to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 presidential election."

Trump has urged his supporters to launch mass demonstrations in his support like he did prior to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol where he shouted in his speech at the Capitol, "We will never give up, we will never concede," and ended with the words: "We fight. We fight like hell and if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore. So let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue." The riot erupted resulting in injuries and deaths of Capitol police.

Here's the scenario according to Time...

"As part of Bragg’s investigation, Trump could face charges for falsifying business records when he allegedly reimbursed his then-personal attorney Michael Cohen for paying off Daniels. The hush-money deal, allegedly crafted weeks before his presidential win, could also put Trump in jeopardy of violating campaign finance laws."
You have to understand that Donald Trump is up against at least five investigations, covering everything from his possession of classified documents to his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Some have said in the past that the charges brought against him by the Atlanta Atty. Gen. for interference in the 2020 election could have the most impact and provide the best venue for prosecution. Back in Jan., charges were said to be imminent.

Will Donald Trump be indicted on Tuesday?...

Barricades are being erected outside the Manhattan criminal court in anticipation of potential charges against Trump. This is because he called for protests when learning of the indictment, which resulted in the assumptions that it could start another riot like Jan. 6, 2021. But PBS News Hour said, "Trump’s calls for protests fail to gain traction ahead of anticipated indictment"...

"Former President Donald Trump’s calls for protests ahead of his anticipated indictment in New York have generated mostly muted reactions from supporters, with even some of his most ardent loyalists dismissing the idea as a waste of time or a law enforcement trap."

Now Stormy Daniels is entering the fray which Yahoo/News describes as "snarky

tweets about Donald Trump ahead of his possible indictment in New York." Here's an example...

"He probably watches my movies on repeat which may be why he has so many typos. (Slippery fingers from lube and KFC/fast food)."

Here's more...

Trump has denied that he had an affair with Daniels. He has also denied paying her $130,000 to keep quiet about the relationship before the 2016 election; he maintains that the paymentsfunneled through his former fixer turned nemesis, Michael Cohen — were fees for Cohen's legal services.

This reminds me of Al Capone who said, “They can't collect legal taxes from illegal money.” The feds did and put him in prison for tax evasion when Capone was clearly guilty of other major crimes like murder. And in the charges by Bragg, Trump can be tried for falsification of business records in the Stormy Daniels money transfer. But, like Capone, this is only the tip of the iceberg when he should also be tried for his efforts in launching the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection.

It is also clear that Donald Trump's delay in the Covid pandemic accounted for the deaths of hundreds, even thousands of Americans. These are only some of the reasons Trump should be prosecuted, and put in prison. There are more and can be found in my collection of posts on Donald Trump corruption.

SCOTUS Matches Trump Corruption And Then Some

It was during Donald Trump's Oval Office romp that he nominated these questionably qualified and suspect corrupt and lascivious people to the highest court in the land. But, then, what would you expect from someone sporting the exact same qualities...
There is Neil Gorsuch, an originalist, in line with the late Justice, Anton Scalia, and the one who lied to Susan Collins re. his vote to repeal Roe v. Wade. Next, Brett Kavanaugh, accused of sexually assaulting Christine Blasey Ford in the early 1980s.Three other women also accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, one of whom later recanted her story. And finally there is Amy Coney Barrett, an ultimate conservative believing that life begins at conception, is also a former member of the Federalist Group, which CNN calls "shadowy," and she is still involved with them.

But the latest corruption comes with the leak, which Chief Justice John Roberts called a...

"singular and egregious breach" and a "betrayal of the confidences of the Court," and ordered an investigation into its provenance.

The Court's marshal was chosen to lead the investigation, which is probably why, in eight months, the whole thing has gone nowhere. Their report said this...

"The pandemic and resulting expansion of the ability to work from home...created an environment where it was too easy to remove sensitive information from the building and the Court's IT networks."

We don't even know if SCOTUS justices were interviewed and Newsweek says...

"All the justices very clearly had the means, and it is quite possible that one (or more) had the requisite motive, to leak the draft opinion or direct a law clerk or some other staffer to do so on his/her implicit behalf."

Newsweek added...

The marshal "pre-judged the outcome of the probe, exculpating the justices and thus undermining the probe's very legitimacy."

And back in November of 2022 Newsweek reported...

Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito has been called a "disgrace" after a new report revealed that he allegedly leaked a draft opinion related to a Supreme Court decision in 2014. The conservative judge has denied the report.
According to Huff Post, Rev. Rob Schenck, the former head of the conservative evangelical group Faith & Action testified Alito leaked the outcome of the 2014 Hobby Lobby decision ahead of time. But here are the results of SCOTUS' bogus investigation...
"The Supreme Court found no leaker, concluding in an unsigned statement that after interviewing almost 100 employees, 82 of whom accessed the opinion, the marshal's team was 'unable to identify a person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence.'"

Wrapping up, apparently the marshal provided considerably more in excuses for what it couldn't find than the efforts it used in its investigations. This isn't over.

Kevin McCarthy - Bogus Speaker at best - In pictures

This is another Republican liar we have learned not to believe. Did Kevin McCarthy learn it from his pal, Donald Trump?

Doesn't this make Kevin McCarthy ineligible to be a member of Congress?

Congress should replace Kevin McCarthy with Charley McCarthy, without Edgar Bergen.

Sorry about the cutoff picture but I couldn't resist the description of Kevin McCarthy as Donald Trump's lapdog.

The question is, are Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene in a love-hate relationship? With any luck, they'll take each other down.

Actually, in addition to Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney has a lot of mens' gonads after her participation in the Jan. 6 Riot Commission. But most notably Donald Trump.

I have no words that would better describe Kevin McCarthy than a POS.

And, although not in the picture, Kevin McCarthy was one of those that both endured and supported Donald Trump lies and corruption.

THE  END...FOR NOW

The Epitome of Republican Wrongdoing...Using Children for political gain

In the movies or on television, if you want ratings you use animals. In today's political competition you can grab the heartstrings, and the attention of voters, by using children. Remember J.D. Vance, "Hillbilly Elegy?" This dufus is in the 2022 Ohio Senate race using this idiot argument, according to Alex Henderson of AlterNet...

"that 'childless Democrats' and 'the childless left' shouldn’t hold public office because they haven’t had the experience of being a parent."

This provokes a huge round of laughter until you realize this idiot is using children to conduct a political campaign that is certain to be fraught with more absurdity and the usual Republican ration of lies. But Wajahat Ali took him down with his liberal piece in The Daily Beast...

"He argues that it is Republicans, in fact, who pose a major threat to the safety and wellbeing of children.
"Far-right Republicans, Ali stresses, are seriously flawed in their thinking when they believe that 'critical race theory' and books they don’t like pose a greater danger in schools than COVID-19."

The GOP is in a race for votes in 2022, and 2024, and are capitalizing on white supremacy, while using the youth of America to make their point. Donald Trump opened the door with his racist comments and actions during the four-years of his administration. The bigots immediately came out of the woodwork with his blessings as well as others around him. The following illustrates this madness...

“Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who has already banned ‘divisive concepts’ from being taught in schools as part of the right’s disingenuous ‘critical race theory’ panic, is now just one vote away from the Virginia Senate adding an amendment to ban mask mandates in Virginia schools,” Ali observes. “North Carolina Republicans are set to file a bill in the House to ban schools from mask mandates…. Schools, and our children in particular, have become the unfortunate but effective political pawns for a right-wing movement seeking to convert parents’ pandemic frustrations, fears and anxiety into 2022 midterm votes.”

GOP Governors Endanger Children By Playing Politics With COVID-19

Getting to the parents who vote through their children. Republicans have no qualms about who or what they use to reach their goal of power. Ali chastises Republicans who "believe that 'critical race theory' and books they don’t like pose a greater danger in schools than COVID-19." Here's a tweet from his Twitter site...
"During Black History Month, Republican leaders are more comfortable with our kids getting COVID than reading a book written by a Black author talking about white supremacy and diversity."

It goes without saying that the GOP has done everything it possibly can to expose children to the coronavirus by opposing all the CDC protocols for protection. Over 12.3 million children have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic out of a total 80,068,996 cases in the U.S. One can only wonder how many of these kids could have been saved the agony of the virus had Republican states like Florida and Texas observed the rules of science.

And, of course, these millions of childrens' cases had to lead to some deaths as reported by Newsweek...

"According to available data as of December 15, a breakdown of 677,393 coronavirus deaths showed 1,005 persons between the ages of 0 and 17. Among those, 319 children between the ages of 0 and 4 had died from the disease."

So, not only has the Republican Party been instrumental in the deaths of over 1,000

children from a virus where, with the correct precautions, no doubt, a large number could have been saved, they also want to use them now in the upcoming elections to sell an agenda of lies and corruption.

The old saying comes to mind...'Do you have no honor?' I guess not when it comes to Republicans.

Insurrection Index Lists Names of Those Connected with Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Riot

It has been said that Donald Trump sat in the Oval Office watching "with glee" the mayhem going on at the U.S. Capitol. And just yesterday Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan told the Jan. 6, commission that he would not cooperate. Many double-digits across the country agreed with Jordan, but many did not and are giving their testimony. This includes Trump's vice president, Mike Pence. Here is what the Insurrection Index is all about...

Insurrection Index is a searchable database of records on individuals and organizations in positions of public trust who were involved in the deadly attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. As of January 2022, the Insurrection Index has over 1,000 records of those in public trust who played a role in the insurrection.
There are gobs of information on "elected officials to extremist groups, individuals and organizations mobilized thousands for an egregious attack on democracy." All led by one man, the ex-White House maniac. If you want people, just select "View all profiles." You'll find a host of names including the infamous Wis. Sen. Ron Johnson, who is doubles as an anti-science advocate. Also Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Roy Blunt, Rand Paul, Rick Scott, Pete Sessions, Louie Gohnert and more.

WATCH: Capitol insurrection: Tracking the attack 1 year later...

With each picture is the position of the person. It goes on for 20 pages and I am horrified by the number of participants alone. Next is a U.S. state map, listing the numbers of individuals, elected officials, candidates from office and individuals arrested from that state. There are 1,404 records in the database that include people of trust in this country, those that should be protecting our democracy. These number 214 elected officials, 393 organizations and 1,011 individuals.

There is a box where you can search by insurrectionist name, state or affiliation. There is also a place to donate if you want to support this group. My gut tells me this is a work in progress, and one that will be a top priority for Democrats in the 2022 and 2024 elections. In the meantime, NPR is bringing us up to date on the Jan. 6, riot investigation with the reminder...

"It's been one year since a mob of Donald Trump's supporters, armed with everything from pipes and flagpoles to chemical sprays, smashed their way through police lines and into the ornate halls and chambers of the U.S. Capitol.

"The deadly assault on Congress, as lawmakers met to certify Joe Biden's election win, temporarily forced them to scramble for safety and disrupted the peaceful transfer of power."
Christopher Wray, FBI Director, has branded the attack an act of "domestic

terrorism," initiating "a sprawling federal investigation to track down and bring to account those who took part in the mayhem." Attorney General Merrick Garland says Justice is working hard to "identify, investigate and apprehend defendants from across the country." But based on Garland's handling of the Trump corruption investigation, some think it is not enough.

You'll want to check out the Insurrection Index now to see how many culprits are in your state. And then I suggest regular visits in the future, if you are interested in keeping up with the Jan. 6, investigative committee.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a hoax...timeline numbers prove it

Ron DeSantis has been flaunting his success with the Covid-19 pandemic for months, noting how his methods defy the science of the virus, telling Floridians how lucky they are to be free of the federal regulations. Well, all you pathetic sunshine souls, it isn't working and it never has. I have been posting on this overrated lunatic for some time and can thank this moron for an increased readership due entirely to the fact they portray DeSantis as the imbecile he is.

As an example, here's a post from Aug. 16, 2021, he shares with another idiot, Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, that garnered 486 readers, "Republican killing machines: Gov. Ron DeSantis/Gov. Greg Abbott."

Here's an excerpt...

Who should know more about addressing the coronavirus than the scientific community, which all Republicans seem to disregard with disdain: "More than 800 Florida physicians implore Gov. DeSantis to allow local school mask mandates."

And during the same month, "Ron DeSantis: Almost successful destroying Florida," brought in 516 readers, both of these numbers significant due to the concentrated focus on just one person. Maybe it was this paragraph that did it...

Here's a quote from DeSantis that now reverberates "loudly" for him in the state of Florida: "My actions will speak louder than words." Actions, let's see, his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic: 3,039,988 total coronavirus cases, 41,937 deaths. His latest daily case count, 15,402. If your state is #3 in the U.S. for total cases, #4, total deaths, looks like Ron DeSantis' actions are either piss-poor or virtually non-existent.

A year ago, Ron DeSantis booed for lying...

Moving into September of 2021, "Watch Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis caught in a lie," saw 539 readers, obviously interested in the fact that DeSantis has a knack for lying like his buddy, Donald Trump. Watch the video for the lie. And here is the one that tells it all, in November of 2021, "Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a "Fraud" and a "Phony," produced a whopping 837 readers, which accounts for the fact that there is high interest in the corruption of Ron DeSantis. Here's an excerpt...

This, (referring to the headline) according to the Orlando Sentinel while the Miami Herald reports this loser is descending into 'anti-vax Crazyville.' Any way you want to look at it, the state of Florida under Gov. Ron DeSantis has had 3,695,945 COVID-19 cases resulting in 59,497 deaths. Here's what the Orlando Sentinel's editorial board had to say...

There's more...

"Between the start of July and the end of October, about 21,000 people died of COVID in Florida, according to Johns Hopkins University data. Those four deadly, tragic months accounted for one in every three of the total COVID deaths—nearly 60,000 victims — since the pandemic began 20 months ago," the board wrote.

Throughout all my posts, and the extensive national press coverage of what was going on in Florida, DeSantis maintained his superiority in controlling coronavirus. And the people of his state, and many other dull-witted Republicans across the country, believed it. But then recently, Omicron cases rose 948% in Florida in just two weeks, and during the surge, DeSantis was nowhere to be heard from or seen as his state literally went down the pandemic tube.

I should mention here that Florida newspapers have chastised the governor regularly like The Florida Times-Union, "Omicron surge: Florida moves up on Top 10 list of states where COVID-19 is spreading the fastest." There are more. But I think you get the idea. Here is a national laughingstock who says he "might" run for president in 2024, and who mirrors the lunacy of Donald Trump right down to the lying. And it is that double-digit Republican base that worries me.

GOP 'Do Nothings' now "cult of know-nothings"

It is a known fact for several years now the Republicans are known as the 'do nothing' party. They would rather block or sabotage Democrats' issues than come up with meaningful legislation of their own. Moscow Mitch, even in his Senate secondary roll today, has still done damage to the Biden agenda. But it the party's allegiance to Donald Trump that has recently defined Republicans, and it doesn't look like this will change any time soon.

In a Hill opinion piece, Bill Schneider led with...

"The Republican Party is becoming a cult. Its leaders are in thrall to Donald Trump, a defeated former president who refuses to acknowledge defeat. Its ideology is MAGA, Trump’s deeply divisive take on what Republicans assume to be unifying American values."

But it has been clear of late that the GOP doesn't really want to unify anything but lies, corruption, deception and violence. Their support of Donald Trump's state after state attempts to invalidate the 2020 election to determine he is a winner is evidence of this. And Trump is the focus, which can be seen here...

"The party is now in the process of carrying out purges of heretics who do not worship Trump or accept all the tenets of MAGA. Conformity is enforced by social media, a relatively new institution with the power to marshal populist energy against critics and opponents."

GOP Green Lights Right-Wing Extremism Within Halls Of Congress...

How does the former White House maniac hold on to this loyalty? The answer is we have to accept the fact that there are more double-digit morons out there than we thought. Trump supporters. Poor souls who have blindly, and still are, completely ignoring what this lunatic did during four years in the White House, and since. Hard to believe...but true. Schneider has more insight...

"What’s happening on the right in American politics is not exactly new. To understand it, you need to read a book published 50 years ago by Seymour Martin Lipset and Earl Raab, "The Politics of Unreason: Right-Wing Extremism in America, 1790-1970." Right-wing extremism, now embodied in Trump’s MAGA movement, dates back to the earliest days of the country."

In the Lipset and Raab book, the authors conclude, "Right-wing extremism is not about the rational calculation of interests. It’s about irrational impulses, which the authors identify as “status frustrations.” The key words here are "rational" and "irrational," and the Republicans are only guilty of one, obviously the latter. Lipset and Raab also talk about attacking "scapegoats," mostly minority ethnic or religious groups.

Obviously they know nothing about humanity, but there is no better definition of the current thrust of the Republican Party than “the politics of unreason.”

Ron DeSantis vs. Roger Stone

Politico's Gary Fineout describes it "the MAGA civil war liberals dream' about. Roger Stone beating up on Ron DeSantis, with the corruption needle here hitting maximum. Both are Donald Trump minions, but, apparently, at least so far, the former White House maniac isn't commenting on the feud. More from Fineout...
"Stone, the long-time ally of Donald Trump and political provocateur in this state, [Florida] has been ratcheting up pressure against the governor. He's calling on him to audit the 2020 election — he hasn't — and then, this past weekend, saying DeSantis should promise now to not run for president if he wins reelection even if Trump doesn't seek another term."

They have both regularly discredited the severity of the coronavirus pandemic, plus pushing the Donald Trump lie of winning the 2020 election. And Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has turned his state into a killing machine with 60,418 Covid-19 deaths to his credit. In Newsweek, Roger Stone claims the COVID Vaccination Has 'Injured or Killed Millions of Americans.' Stone has threatened to run against DeSantis for governor but Fineout says...

"DeSantis as a Libertarian. DeSantis, in response, said that Stone can't run against him because he is a "convicted felon," but Stone is arguing that because Trump pardoned him for the federal crimes he was sentenced to federal prison for, his right to run for governor of Florida remains."

Roger Stone gives his reason for running for Florida governor against DeSantis...

I did a blog post back in August citing how the demented DeSantis was destroying the state of Florida with the implication that despite the completely incompetent handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, the graves of his victims are something to laugh about. We then saw DeSantis demeaning the coronavirus vaccine in favor of a COVID-19 antibody treatment that a hedge fund run by one of his top donors invested big bucks in. That would be...

"Ken Griffin, whose hedge fund Citadel owns $15.9 million worth of shares in Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc., donated more than $10 million to DeSantis through a political action committee."

However, back in July of 2020, Lawfare exclaimed...

"President Trump’s commutation of the prison sentence of his longtime confidante Roger Stone is wholly unsurprising. Indeed, given Trump’s repeated teasing of the matter over the life of the case against Stone, it would have been something of a surprise had he not intervened so that his felonious friend was spared time behind bars."

The article implies that Trump did what he did to save his butt from the Robert Mueller investigation...

"Trump publicly encouraged Stone not to cooperate with Robert Mueller’s investigation, he publicly dangled clemency as a reward for silence, and he has now delivered. The act is predictable precisely because the corrupt action is so naked."

So, what we have here are two deceiving individuals, Ron DeSantis and Roger Stone, both with connections to the most deceiving individual ever, Donald Trump, the two possibly going head-to-head for the top job in Florida. YES, we wanted to get rid of Ron DeSantis, but...Roger Stone???

Donald Trump could be behind bars soon

Considering the corruption and violence of the mafia over its years of reign, not even the "wise guys" could hold a candle to what Donald Trump has done to this country. His best effort was the 459,472 COVID-19 deaths of U.S. citizens attributable to Trump's incompetence in handling the pandemic.

Chauncey Devega in Salon described Trump as, the leader of a political crime family." Devega says...
"Much of Trump's apparent extortion, self-dealing, influence-peddling, and outright blackmail was done in plain sight. One such scheme, in which Trump attempted to extort the president of Ukraine into launching a phony investigation of Joe Biden, resulted in his impeachment (that is, for the first time)."

There's more...

"Trump's blatant disregard for the law is part of his brand as a billionaire reality-TV star turned president and (until last month) the most powerful person on the planet."

Much of this has been said before but the Salon article has put some interesting twists on Trump's shenanigans. Read more...

Remember when Trump, while still in office, was fighting non-existent voter fraud? And how he begged his double-digit supporters to give freely of their money to further his cause? Well, get this...Matthew Chapman in Raw Story says, "Trump and the GOP funneled much of the money into political organizations.

At least $175 million going there leaving a paltry amount left for the fight...
"Trump and his allies filed dozens of lawsuits in state and federal court to try to toss out the results of the election — and was ultimately smacked down nearly every time, including by a judge he appointed. However, the fraction of these suits funded by Trump directly may not have been that expensive — especially considering he has vehemently fought paying Rudy Giuliani his legal fees."

Instead of President of the United States, Donald Trump should have been elected as the 'world's best conman.' Read more...

Latest News Digest/Page 3

Capitol riots enablers Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri, already the target of congress for helping to incite the Capitol riot, have...
"frantically searched for a political sweet spot: They’ve tried to condemn the violence without retracting or apologizing for their active role in sustaining the big lie that incited it."

But the horror is actually seen in the video that accompanies this piece. Scroll down for the video and, folks, it is a MUST WATCH! Here's the article: Appalling new video of the rioters is a big problem for Trump’s GOP enablers

Trump is headed for debtors prison when he leaves office. In the same period of time he spent hallucinating in the Oval Office, loans in the hundreds of millions of dollars will come due, and there may be nowhere to go for more. The Hill says debt holders have...

There's more...

"Trump owes creditors at least $315 million, mainly through mortgages for Trump Organization hotels, resorts and golf courses, according to his 2020 financial disclosure. A Forbes analysis of Trump’s finances, however, found that Trump likely owes at least $1 billion to creditors, some of which he has personally guaranteed."

Donald Trump met with his elite advisory duo, Ivanka and Jared, to discuss some 100 pardons he has planned including...
"white-collar criminals, high-profile rappers and others. It will likely include some pardons aimed at advocating for criminal justice reform, as well as controversial pardons for political allies."

Billy Graham was a religious icon that most anyone could admire, even atheists. His son, Franklin Graham, on the other hand, has a twisted mind that has led his followers down the trail of Donald Trump idolatry. Although Graham said after seemingly criticizing Capitol rioters, "I don't think it was the president's finest moment." Then, the article exclaims...
"But Graham said he doesn't expect the tumult at the Capitol to deter evangelical Christians from supporting Trump."

There's more...

"I don’t think he had any understanding in that moment of what was going to take place," he said. "None of us did."

Franklin Graham, like so many of his pathetic religious followers, have helped make Donald Trump the maniac he is today. And this is why so many Americans have left the church. Read more: Evangelicals and other faith leaders still support Trump after deadly US Capitol attack

Time for a quick compendium on Donald Trump's lies racked up in his four years in the White House. AlterNet leads with this...

"For the last four years, fact-checkers have had their hands full keeping up with President Donald Trump's unprecedented level of dishonesty. While The Washington Post reported that Trump had delivered more than 22,000 false or misleading claims..."

The article calls Trump's dalliance with untruths a "disgraced president's" tweeting claims that likely had something to do with the outcome of the 2020 election. We're thankful for that and there's much more. Read the article: Here are the most dangerous and notable lies Trump spewed during his presidency

Arizona Republican representative Andy Biggs is the scumbag of this state's lowlife GOP. Biggs, along with twin scumbag Paul Gosar actually wrote a letter to Donald Trump in 2019. "reinforcing their support for the president’s desire to spend billions of tax dollars on a border wall." Today, Biggs has been accused of being part of the recent Capitol riots. The rep. denies but...
"Ali Alexander, who led rallies nationwide to try to overturn the results of the presidential election, called Biggs a hero of the movement during the rally at the Arizona Capitol and led a chant in his name."

The time has finally arrived where it is likely that this country will find out whether Bernie Sanders' Progressive agenda is feasible. The Ps know it is and some moderates think there are possibilities. My gut tells me that President-elect Joe Biden, deep down, believes in Bernie as his Chairman Senate Budget Committee, and is convinced his issues can help this country. God knows it needs help after Donald Trump. Yet Republicans see a nightmare...
"that a champion of working-class people and the common good—one who has dedicated his political career to curbing poverty and injustice while denouncing corporate greed, endless war, and the cruelty of a for-profit health system that leaves millions upon millions uninsured or without affordable access to care—would assume the powerful position of chairing the Senate Budget Committee is about to become reality."

Go get 'em Bernie. Read more: GOP nightmare of Senate Budget Chair Bernie Sanders is about to come true

Republican fears just might come true. Donald Trump could well be the defining factor that the GOP is so misguided and corrupt that it no longer deserves the right to exist. At least as it is. It started with Karl Rove in the Geo. W. Bush administration where lying and deceit became staples for the Party. The progression of fabrication of the truth compounded by the GOP's corruption provided T-rump the perfect 'welcome wagon' he needed. But...
"The last four years under President Donald Trump's leadership have been tumultuous for politics but the end of Trump's reign has dealt a hefty blow to the Republican Party."
And now after the Capitol riots, incited by Donald Trump, we are going into a modicum of quietude under our new president, Joe Biden. With Kamala Harris at his side, the hopes for this country are once again optimistic. And if the Republicans implode, well, it couldn't happen to a better gang.
